I might be mistaken, but didnt Motortrend DROP the Mustang from their extended test?

If I am right, the mustang was too slow and old, the designers started looking forward rather then backwards... *shrug* People hate waht they can't stand.

CHVY4LF 10-31-2008 10:05 AM

This isn't even worth thinking about its just another mustang fanboy who doesn't know what he is even talking about and is mad that our camaro will beat even a modified mustang stock

20mpg from the "big" V8...really? I think somebody's just pissed they have to deal with a teeny little 4.6L...;)

I've got a feeling those were selected-by-the-editors (go figure) pushbacks against the thrilling article MotorTrend wrote up earlier. Obviously they have to balance the amazing with the stupidity of a few readers.:bellyroll:

RB43TD 10-31-2008 10:27 AM

Filled up at $1.95 this morning. I'm not too worried about the $4.00 rate right now.

There's so much hypocrisy in this article that I can't stand it. There are attacks on the big V8, but has anyone noticed that the only V8s being reamed are American? All over the world, V8s are being made. The US makes a lot of them, but don't tell us that our V8 came out at the wrong time because it seems as though every company is releasing new cars between 2009 and 2011. Many of those have V8s. Additionall, gas has plummeted in value. I expect that demand will remain low for a long time and that Americans have decided that 2 major market scares in a lifetime is enough to start switching to alternative fuels. Finally, this author has no respect for competition. When the market was bad for Chevrolet, it was also bad for Ford, and talking about bad Chevys can be easily countered with stories about Escorts falling apart or Thunderbirds with mundane design cues. Chevrolet has some of the highest quality ratings available, so talking about rattling interiors or competing with the 4-year-old Mustang just shows that Ford can't keep up. It's like the heckler at the football game who reminds the opposing team of a 20-year-old scandal. It has nothing to do with the current game, and the game between Chevy and Ford is becoming a massacre. I don't need to tell you who is winning. :chevy:

"in what world did a 1967-1969 Camaro have a pointed nose? "

Obviously this guy has never seen a 1967-1969 Firebird....or perhaps he is just to ignorant to realize the Firebird and Camaro were on same platform.

The pointed grill is the only thing I didn't care for in 1969 That is why I liked the RS grill and lights so much better in 1969.

XXXX that report! Sounds like the BS I read in the newspaper after a great classical Boston concert. Narrow minded reporter could only talk about the old farts, dope smoking and other BS. Little was mentioned of the great music.

As for the New Camaro I'm buying one, practical or not.

Listen, everyone has their opinion. Some people are die hard Camaro people (us) and some people are die hard Mustang people (like the guy that wrote that). He's entitled to his opinion. Even though the entire world knows it's wrong.

Sad....

Sad Motortrend would print such "rubbish."

Sad they believe the hatch is one of the most important features on ALL Camaro....when it's only on the 3rd and 4th gens. Shoot, I WANT A TRUNK!!!

Sad they can't understand differences between noses.

Sad that they are living somewhere where they are literally getting POKED on $4.00 gas! Hell, if you are stupid enough to pay for it, you are stupid enough to write this article. (Filled up for $2.09 yesterday).

Sad that they have to try to skew their mpg #'s to make it look worse. 20mpg's? We all know that's just a wee bit low for the Camaro. But hey, if it makes stupid look better!!, right?

To the three that wrote it...

I forgive your ignorance. Someone has pulled the wool over your eyes and brainwashed you into thinking that the Mustang is the all high and mighty powerful one. Yep...they stuck around...yep they sold a lot of cars...but where you are wrong?.....

The Mustang just can't compete with the General.

Wait....you three already knew this....which is why you are venting.

...mphf......whatever.
