Need help with alarm system!

Last week my car alarm remote got wet in the rain and doesn't work anymore. I bought a new remote for the car, the same model. It's a pain in the ass becuase I had the battery disconnected before the remote stopped working, so when i reconnect the battery the alarm goes off and I can't turn it off. I looked in the manual for how to reprogram the transmitter. One of the steps says to "press and release the valet push button switch..." I can't find this button in my car. Is there a way I can shut off the alarm manually by disconnecting it?

I have no idea what to do now, I need help.

Look for a cheap looking toggle switch or push button under the dash. You could also follow the wires that come out of the alarm box which is usually installed under the dash on the drivers side. Once you locate it, you can disable it by turning the ignition on and either toggling the switch or holding the button down on the valet override.
