5th. gen opinion
How many people did not like the 5th. gen when they saw a picture of it but changed their mind when they saw it in person? I did talk to a lot of people who were not impressed with it after seeing a picture but when they saw it in person they changed their mind and really liked it. I have told a lot of people that they have to see the car in person before they decide whether they like it or not. I refused to look at any pictures of the car before the unveiling a year ago January. I was there and the unveiling was my first look at the new Camaro. I loved it right away.... aggressive yet subdued, hints of the 1st. gen. 69, but still cutting edge and new, not totally retro that at some point is going to fall from grace in the future and the Camaro can still move forward with its current design. Now lets see..... if I kick the children out of the house now, I could save some money that way... if we eat only once a day.... run the heat only 4 hours a day..... shower together ...

When i first saw the pictures of the Camaro I actually thought it was a very nice design. By no means at all did I not like it or think it wasn't appealing.
However, when I saw it in person at the Chicago Auto Show is when I realized that I had to have one. I agree that seeing it in person it almost becomes a completely different car, and it is far more stunning in person; however, I loved it from the first time I saw it; seeing it in person just reaffirmed it. |
I only disliked the front end, but loved the rest of the entire car. Over time, the front end grew on me and I can't get enough of looking at it. Then, I saw it in person and it completely blew me away...so much better in person than in pictures....so much better. I'll admit that I got teary eyed when I saw the new version released on the puter. Yes. I love the Camaro.

I don't think pictures do the car justice. From a photographer's standpoint, there are too many curves and planes to capture in Two-dee. It just doesn't work.
It still looks great on paper, but if you do a wrong angle it makes the car look fat, or lopsided. For Example: |
I have yet to see it in person but I agree with tag. The only thing I didn't love was the grill. I think a phantom billet would be a hot aftermarket replacement. Or hideaways with just a different grill. The squares irk me still. I'm hoping I'll fall in love with it all over again when I see it in person.

I am happy with how the Camaro looks. But I get a bit miffed when I show it to someone for the first time and they say it looks like a Mustang.

I loved the new design from the first time I saw it. I've never seen it in person.

Personally I think they're crazy. Can't wait to get a Camaro to park next to the Mustangs at work and show them they look nothing alike. (aside from 4 wheels) |
When I first saw images of the concept, I was kinda bummed. After all, I'd been seeing some great renderings by Kris Horton http://www.carsbykris.com
http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/585...maro04z4ix.jpg http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/169...maro03z4yp.jpg My first thought of the official concept was that it was the bastard child of a vette and charger… …until I saw it in person It freakin' ROCKS!! |
Wow, that rendering is NOT for me. Had i saw that before the actual concept, it would have made me appreciate the actual concept even more.
|
I saw that pic before seeing the concept and it DID make me appreciate the concept that much more. Sorry, but IMO that thing is:barf: . Thank God they didn't do something like that. Oh, I would have walked away forever.
