It looks awful!!! :barf: What the hell happened to GM saying we're not going to run the Camaro in NASCAR because the proportions from street production car to race car around the green house won't fit properly. :bs: Good grief that thing in hideous!!! I'd rather see them run a covered wagon than trying to stretch the body all out of proportion to fit. :mad0259: It should have been the new Malibu. This is all kinds of wrong.

They had to change things some just because of the rules for aero equalness between makes. Besides who would want to run at 200mph 2" from the car on either side or rear at Daytona or Talladega with the visibility the production Camaro has?
Also the car has not completed development yet, I say there will be tweaking of the final car once it's track tested.

COOL

Could this be an attempt to entice people to buy more blue Camaro's? I heard they don't sell as well.

I applaud the effort. No way the street proportions were going to work on the NASCAR circuit. Thankfully they didn't design this first , then develop the street body:thumbdown:. Hard to tell, but the back end looks like it's still an Impala.

What are the odds a diecast will have this shape and proportions, or simply be a street car with paint???:iono:

Meh, i'd rather watch the real thing in the Grand Am series.

:readthethread: As I said in my earlier post, it should have been the new Malibu. Nobody said that it should have been a Camaro at all. The design of the current Nationwide series cars does not lend itself to to our cars body lines. All the current cars are the shape of Checker Cabs especially in Cup. Next season the "Cup Cars" will finally be getting back to a more "stock production looking" car, but the Nationwide cars will be continuing with the current "similar" to each other aero package. I'm not a hater. I'm just sick of the sport & business (yes my business revolves around the sport) I've been involved in for nearly 40 years falling apart at the seams.

YESS SIR!! I'm ther with you! Real production cars competing!

Don't give a crap what a lot have posted, but I like the new Camaro Nationwide Series Car. The Mustangs in the Cup series are about the same. Seeing the "similar" Camaros and Mustangs fight it out in that style of racing is still fun for those of us that enjoy NASCAR. There are all type of racing out there for everyone to find what they enjoy watching. Me, I like it all.

Everyone that is posting how they hate it now, but if it starts winning and showing up in Victory Lane, those same people will be bitching to Chevy because they don't offer those Options when purchasing.

Honestly people... give it a break, is it a knock out? NO, does it look real? NO, Its a sheet metal and fiberglass body that has to meet very very strict numerical tolerances, so it's not gonna be like what we drive. This is a prototype car and I'm sure it will change again before you see it on the track. I'm fortunate enough to be involved with a Nascar organization and trust me, stuff changes like we change clothes.... Give it some time before you kick dirt on it. Nascar is built around the fans and what they say... alot of negative can generate change.... so lets support the idea and effort.

I think it is great that they are going to run the Camaro against the Mustang and the Challenger, but I wish it looked a little bit more like a Camaro. Keep in mind the Chevy they use now doesn't look much like the real one either.
