Problem with stereo?

So I'm driving down the street in my residential area listening to music a little loud off my iPod
around 20-25 volume, through my iPod, USB
all of a sudden this loud static just blurts out of no where.
it was like a popping sound and staticy sound.
scared the crap out of me.
I've heard it was something through my bluetooth with my phone,
But when I turn off my bluetooth or my phone all together, it doesn't stop.
It's not all the time and it doesn't happen when I don't have my phone.
any opinions?

Mine has done this from day one, I have 2 iPhone 4's and an iPad 2 and each and everyone has static, I don't even use them, I have no problem with USB flash drives what so ever though, that's my #1 source of music aha.

DataWave, I'm sorry to hear about this. I would suggest speaking with a dealer in your area and seeing if you can try pairing or using your Idevice with another similarly equipped vehicle to see if it also has this issue. That might help to pin down the culprit in this particular instance. Hopefully from there your dealer will be able to take care of this for you. Let us know how things go for you in getting this checked.

I have the same issue. Pull the usb cable out of the port in the car and plug it back in. It should "fix" the problem for a while. So far it does only seem to be iPods with the issue, other usb devices seem to be fine. You may also want to verify which version of the PDIM module you have, but I am on the latest hardware and software revision and have the issue as well...
