Chicago Area: Navy Discussion
 

I wanted to start a section over here for local Navy people and people who might be interested in joining the military. When I made the decision to join, I was fortunate to have an honest recruiter who gave me none of the sales garbage that apparently comes standard to this job. After all, they are working in an office oriented toward production, and that applies to all branches of the military. Even if they aren't hiring for every job, there are still goals to meet in certain jobs.

Basically, if you're in the area and thinking about military service, the hardest step is going to the recruiter's office for the first time and asking those questions. The sad thing is that once you've shown your face, it's much easier to say the right things to get you to join, and it helps to have someone answering your questions that is honest and shows you some respect. I don't know a lot of recruiters, but I can get your questions answered honestly if you want me to introduce you to mine.

We have workouts every week at the office for people who are waiting to ship to boot camp. We do some running and other training outside and usually end up playing football. You're welcome to come join us for a good workout if you have any questions.
