They built a prototype on an existing chassis, tested the buyers market for a short period of time and put the car into production. They didn't build up 7 years worth of hype for an undelivered promise as GM did with the Camaro.

Edit- Wow, I just got off Cheverolet's site laughing. GM doesn't even know what options they are going to offer. They want customer input on what should be offered. They are estimating engine power and projecting performance numbers because they HAVE YET to produce an actual production model. They are guessing at 422hp for the standard tranny and 400hp for the auto on the SS cars. The STR8 Challenger makes 425 with the auto tranny. We can't speculate about the price of the Camaro because we have no idea what it will be. The top dog SRT8 is 40k on the nose.

Well seeing as how I can go to my local Dodge dealership and pick up an SRT8 while your just hoping the Camaro comes out sometime in 2010 I wouldn't consider that a fair race. My Challenger would have 40,000 miles on it before you even got a car. That is IF they actually go into production. Don't speak again until you see a Camaro on the road.
