ordered CAI cai scoop package and sw exhaust thanks

Apex Motorsports 11-26-2012 05:56 AM

Thank you for your order.

ForgedReality 11-26-2012 08:17 AM

GRAH! I was literally two seconds away from completing my transaction. I liked the idea of the free scoop with the washer bottle relocation kit and black CAI, but then I looked around and I like the OEM looks of the Rotofab bottle much better.

But then it also looks to hold considerably less fluid, and it doesn't qualify for the combo deal. Argh! I'm so conflicted. :(

Haole 12-12-2012 02:09 PM

I'm sure this is a stupid question and I'm pretty sure of the answer. I'm about to install my CAI today and last my neighbor (who has a high performance mustang) asked if I needed a tune after the install.
So there is my question do I?

Heck no you don't! The ECU will adjust to the new airflow and start responding better almost immediately. :headbang: A tune just for the intake probably wouldn't help much unless you also installed other mods like a supercharger or headers.

Apex Motorsports 12-12-2012 03:47 PM

If you owned a Mustang he would be correct. Their ECM will not adjust so they have to tune just about anytime they open the hood. But, like ForgedReality explained, that is not the case for Camaro owners.

Haole 12-12-2012 04:10 PM

Thank you both. I was sure of the answer just double checking. I will post on here after I complete installing it.

Haole 12-13-2012 08:42 PM

Well I just finished installing my CAI. I found it to be a pretty easy install. Only problem I had was getting the cover to sit properly. I eventually got it. Will hopefully see and feel the difference in the morning on my way to work. So 4 am tomorrow won't get here soon enough. I have a 13 mile stretch of highway so I will see then.
Soon as I get some time off I will tackle the scoop and washer relocate

Apex Motorsports 12-14-2012 05:48 AM

Sometimes the lid takes a little effort. I like to read customers impressions when they install the intake first and then do the scoop a few days later.

Haole 12-14-2012 09:22 PM

I will let you know soon as I'm able to put the scoop on. It actually all depends on when the first family come here for their vacation . with my job I will be busy with that.

Apex Motorsports 12-15-2012 04:06 PM

Barack is mod blocking?

Haole 12-15-2012 04:37 PM

LoL. Unfortunately he might be. He fretful right off the base I work on and comes on to do recreation so my K9 partner get to work to protect him.

Just ordered mine! :D

Is there and disadvantage or problems with the BBK intake for the LFX? I am thinking of getting one of these. My budget is tight and this looks like it would be in my price range. Do you need to relocate the washer bottle for this installation?
How about the Airaid, does the washer bottle need relocating?

Apex Motorsports 02-23-2013 05:49 AM

It depends on what is most important to you. If maximum gains are your goal then neither of those systems are what you should be looking at. If you are after a certain look or price point then they might be. There is definitely nothing wrong with them. If there were we wouldn't carry them. Neither require that you relocate the washer tank.

Apex Motorsports 04-09-2013 07:54 PM

Many of the drop shippers around here are in a bind because CAI Inc is on back order! Apex Motorsports is a stocking distributor for CAI Inc and has V8 and V6 intake systems in stock and ready to ship.

CAMAROdrivin'BALLplaya 04-20-2013 01:50 PM

Almost ordered a CAI intake the saw this post before putting it through. What is the advantage of doing it through apex now as opposed to CAI website if I were to order it today? I read the specials you had a while ago. Want to make sure I am not missing out on anything. Thanks!

Apex Motorsports 04-21-2013 10:01 AM

Advantage #1: Free shipping. Saves you about $15.

Advantage #2: They are IN STOCK. We maintain a 30-45 day inventory so when everyone else is on back order in the Spring we have CAI Inc intakes on the shelf ready to ship.

Sliq 04-23-2013 10:35 AM

Do you have them in black????
