SirWestofAsh's Build Thread

I figured I have to start somewhere. What better time to do it than now.

Alright, first step was convincing the parents a Camaro wasn't a screaming metal death trap(Well before aftermarket upgrades). :D After weeks of deliberating and me firmly telling them I want nothing else but a Camaro, I rather have a Camaro over anything on the market up to 30,000 dollars. They finally decided to cave in.

We proceeded to drive down to Greenville South Carolina at a popular car strip called the "Motor Mile". We arrived there in late July and that is where I decided this would be the car I got, no matter what.

Then a lot of back and forth began with the dealer, they tried to get us to pay sticker. Luckily, my parents are smart and good with money. After some haggling and package deals we got it for a flat 25,000 1LT after tag, title, and Shipping. :D

Here is the first picture session of my love :D

As a way to keep track of the mods i wish to buy and look at. I will be putting links to everything i've found so far.

Sirwestofash 11-24-2011 04:45 PM

Purchased 3 new modifications. Will be more coming fast!!! Especially with the holiday deals and money coming in.

The three I got were side gills, HOD lights, and LED license plate lights.

Sirwestofash 12-04-2011 08:38 PM

 New Mods! installed!! I have yet to get the LED License plate lights installed. Here are the HOD headlights and SLP Fade Gills.

The HOD lights visibility wise are about the same as factory there is just a white "tint" to your headlights when they hit objects in front of you now. I believe for the 30 bucks i spent on them they are awesome!! They give me a more HID look. Easy install, I had an issue with my lever for my right headlight not unlocking, other than that no problems!!

The SLP gills are wonderful and easy to install, you don't really need to do anything as far as prepping goes, just clean the surface good and make sure its dry before you put it on.

Thank you :)

Yeah they aren't too pricey and for the lighter colored cars they make the overall car flow better when you look at it from a distance! :headbang:

Alright so i got the pictures uploaded, one is taken on a dark afternoon while it was raining. That picture is the one with the original lights.

The second picture is the one with the new LED License Plate lights. That was taken in the nighttime so the lights will appear brighter no matter what. Take my word for it though; they are noticeably brighter even in the daytime and look more clean/refined than the stock lights.

Most likeliest next mod will be Reverse LED lights from AAC.

Thank you!! Yeah I have a lot of things planned. My biggest goal is to keep the car looking as beautiful if not more beautiful than the day I bought it. I don't want to do any upgrades that in my opinion take away from the cars naturally pleasing structure. (For example 30 inch rims)

I hope to get halos next, but we'll see how much money my next paycheck has whether or not I can do it. :iono:

Aquablue I really like your build thread! The 68 is so gorgeous
