Put the car on the scales

So, at the Optima Batteries Search for the Ultimate Street car this weekend they offered scales to weigh the cars. Figured I would find out what she weighs. 1 SS, NPP, Recaros, no trunk interior panels and no upper back seat. With half a tank of fuel, 3853lbs. Not bad. With me in it add another 150. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...f655a7de56.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06...7fa6da9a4e.jpg

Seems to be about 1% more front end heavy than GM claimed (your car is about 53%/47% and the advertisement for the car was 52%/48%). I wonder if they used more fuel to increase the rear weight.

Possible for sure, but we'll never know. I guess.

They weigh the same as the factory wheel and tire combo.

2SS doesn't really add much weight. Your talking about a guage cluster in front of the shifter and some electronics for the HUD...not too much else.

What are some of the most common ways to shed weight on these cars?

Read this thread.

I've already shed 100lbs from my 1LE. I know its a reach, but I hope to get to 3600lbs.

3600lbs with upgraded suspension, brakes and NA ~500whp . Car will fly on the road course.
