Helmet Recommendations

Going to.start running the car at various tracks/types of racing. Looking for recommendations on economical, safe, and comfortable SA2010 helmet. Also where is the best place to purchase. First track day is a week out. Thanks.

Fulmer makes one for a decennt price. I'd say spend the extra money and get a Simpson

First be sure to get the correct size. An SA2010 helmet is not going to be inexpensive. I found one on Jeg's or Summit's web site, 3/4 face for around $150.00. there are lots more that cost a lot more.

Saferacer has a Simpson (full face) on special for $299. I have an older version of that helmet and it's a fair price for what you get.

I would suggest you buy a full face helmet as opposed to a 3/4 helmet. Quite a few of the tracks for legal/insurance reasons now require a full face helmet. If you are in the NorthEast, New Jersey Motorsports Park comes to mind as now having the full face requirement.

Aside from the helmet, most tracks require long sleeved shirts - if it's hot, you may like to have a couple of the under armour athletic shirts instead of the cotton t-shirt.

I would like to run a 3/4 but not going to chance it and end up buying a full face. Anyone know anything about these Pyrotect Helmets? Prices look reasonable. Thanks.

Forget about insurance, have you ever seen a face that has been crushed in a car accident? I have, and believe me when I say that you will thank yourself for having a full face helmet if you're ever in a serious crash.

need to remember the shape of your head, different helmets fit differently. depending on if you have a oval shape or round shape. and remeber how much does your head cost?
