First mod to your new Z/28

So what are some of the mods you guys are going to be purchasing a Z/28 thinking of doing

Not thinking of purchasing anything, but I might remove the bow tie on the rear.

STAGE ONE:
• Roll-bar or roll-cage
• Harness bar & harnesses
• Extra set of wheels/tires for street use
• Remove rear seat and install "parcel shelf" for hauling gear to track

STAGE TWO: [if I drive it and decide "I gotta fever and the only prescription is... more cowbell!!"]
• Katech engine mods
• Pfadt suspension mod

For me the first thing is better cold air intake headers intake manifold in a second set of rims for street tires.

I know the last thing I would touch is the suspension and brakes. As much noise that has been made over these parts in the car, there better not be a better suspension or braking system on the planet.;)

I would lean towards new heads. I don't want to drop a valve on my new $75k car.

Speakers.

A 2nd mortgage...

This reminds me; I need to remove the bow tie and add the Nurburgring sticker…

I agree, even though I listed Pfadt mods as a possibility down the road. I don't believe there's much they can do to improve the Z/28 suspension, but I'll be interested to see. I think any improvements they might come up with will result in slight gains, at the sacrifice of drivability on the street -- and I'd like to be able to drive my Z/28 to the track without getting pummeled...

Nice touch!

It's good to see someone planning to use the car the way it was intended. If I were getting a Z/28, I'd keep it simple:

4 point roll bar
6 point harness (always with a HANS type device, I use a Necksgen)
Extra set of wheels for track tires
If the Recaros don't work well with a 6 point harness, I'd put in a pair of 1 piece racing seats. Sparco Evos are being installed in my 1LE this week.

Is this still a problem with the LS7?

I sold my C6 Z06 because of this issue being a possibility.

I have no idea. I know GM finally copped to it being an issue but I never heard if there was an update to the heads to fix it.
