Rctreece...love that stance! But I couldn't go anywhere in this state and keep the splitter intact. Absolutely awesome look!

Got the same problem down here. Damn curb jumped out in front of me. Messed up the chin spoiler. I fix it but it still needs paint. I ordered a mdp1 hood about a month ago and I am just waiting for it then I will get both painted along with mail slot filler panel. When I pull into the base and the guy ask about it I just tell to never let your wife drive. Lol

I already have a ton of rake, this thread is about leveling out the car.

Too much rake here!

I'm looking at doing that very stance right now. I have .5" difference between the front and the rear and want to level it out. I have the dealer installed 21" wheel/tire so as soon as I find out if this combo will work I will be ordering me some springs!

so this car is before lowering, right? and i still dont understand how 1.4 front and 1 rear like the OP (not pro street john's pic) can make it even remotely level. mind blown.

Pro Stock John 03-25-2014 12:52 PM

That is my before pic. :)

No, PSJ's car is stock ride height there in the picture. We typically offer a "raked" spring package which has 1.4" front springs and 1.0" rear springs. However, John is talking about reversing that and getting 1.4's for the rear and 1.0's on the front to level it out. Which I think would probably work well for him in this case. But we have not done a test fitment with a "reverse" set-up like that, so the end result would be questionable at this point. We also offer a 1.2" rear drop spring for the V-6, which will fit on the V-8 car as well, but it has a 430 lb. spring rate vs. the 460 lb. spring rate on the 1.4" spring. So either way, I think they would end up being about equal, maybe the 1.2" spring being ever so slightly taller.

Hey Keith, 1.0 up front works, but I really want to bring the back down so more than a 1.0 drop in back is my goal. So are you saying that the 1.2 V6 and the 1.4 rear V8 might end up being about the same?

Yeah, I think they would be very close. With the 1.2 spring having the lower spring rate (designed for the V-6), I think it would probably compress to the point of being close to the same height as the 1.4 spring. The spring rate difference is only 30 lbs., and 0.2" is a very small difference in ride height, so in my opinion, I think they would be close to the same end result.

I'm almost ready, I want to take some more measurements once I put my 18's back on.

I REALLY like the stance of Colt's car, that would be ideal. ;)

ST1LE 03-26-2014 12:23 PM

So I have a question about lowering my 1LE. Pedders used to suggest their 1 inch lowering springs for the rear plus their 1LE permagrin package. I dont know anybody, nor have I seen pics of a 1LE with a 1" drop in the back only. Will this end up giving me a level look or will the rear maybe be too low? Also how do the BMR 1" rear drop spring rates compare to the stock 1LE rear spring rates? I am hoping that the 1" drop wont affect the ride quality too much as well.

Mikamaro 03-28-2014 06:41 PM

So still no choices of rear springs to lower the gap by 0.5''inch more then the front?
