Stripes on the '69 Camaro Z/28. Which is correct?

Hey All,

I have a question for all the Camaro fanatics in here. I recently came upon a 1969 Camaro z/28 in a barn. I have started doing research into what it is going to take to restore it to its original condition. In my search for the correct information on "Stripe" location, I have this question?

"Where do the stripes stop?" Do they stop on the spoiler or do they continue down onto the trunk pan?

As far as I know this is the original paint and the stripes stop on the spoiler.

I will try an attach a pick of what I am talking about.

I said trunk pan and meant trunk lid. Boy it has been a ruff day. :bonk:

^^^That is correct^^^

the major difference seems to be the front...
67 and 68 go all the way to the nose
69's are stopped about a inch or two from the nose

Yea, I have to get them resized. They are currently too big for the upload.

So, would this be an incorrect restoration? Somebody recently opened a new Muscle Car shop about 20 miles from where I live and he had 2 nicely restored cars. One was a 69 Pace Car X11 convertable, the other was a very nice Z/28 x77. He is asking $70k for the X11 and $62k for the X77. Both of them had there stripes painted onto the trunk lid.

You should ask n1tem4r3 on that. That car is actually his dad's and he could probably tell you exactly how it was restored, if at all. My guess is that it is very accurate.

Here you go. I picked this up in Nov of 2006. It had been registered or driven since 1982.
