Is the clutch switch mounted at the top of your pedal or the bottom, I havent really looked under the dash yet

Yes and no. Stock with 3:91 gears and JRE caps and posi mod, LPW cover. Yes the clutch position sensor is in a very difficult spot at top of pedal bracket. :frown:

Well I was going to mount a micro switch somewhere at top of the pedal so it dose not release the 2 step till the pedal is all the way released
I guess I will have to fabricate something

I'd go with the Lingenfelter CTAP-01 box.

Might go that way after I look under the dash
After you calibrate the CTAP-01 box what settings do you use

I looked under the dash and ordered the Lingenfelter CTAP-01 box and the L480370108 plug and play harness I got a feeling that will save me a whole hell of a lot of aggravation

Thanks for getting me to look

Couple of tips:

Remove drivers seat for easier access.

To unplug the harness plug from clutch position sensor switch you must first remove a grey clip and then use a small pick to unlock second lock. It's pretty much blind and a total beach.:frusty: Practice on the brake switch harness first it's the same and a lot easier to get at.

Question Merc. Could you use the brake harness and pedal to activate the CTAP-001 box on an A6. The idea being to hold say 1400rpm (or whatever rpm as long as it didn't push the car) and activate the 2 Step when the brake pedal lifted 5%?

I always hold rpm's against the brake pedal when I'm staged but when watching the tree I know I'm not holding consistant rpm's every pass.

Not sure. I'll be talking to Jason from Lingenfelter probably tomorrow I'll ask. He is thinking I have RF interference. Sent him pic's, He talking moving the MSD module farther away from motor and putting stock wires back on.

I would think you could put a manual switch in there and tie it into a line lock and the 2 step Pump the brakes up to hold it and release the button to launch it

Yes that would work for sure. Thought of trying that myself. Both the linelock and 2-step can be activated at the same time on one button through ground.

Not sure of what settings

I'm not sure of what settings to use on the Lingenfelter CTAP-01 box I would like it to release the 2 step close to the top of the clutch pedal any one have a idea what settings on the Lingenfelter CTAP-01 box to use ?

Also I installed the 2 step that was a piece of cake, but the harness plug on top of the clutch appears to be a real pain to get to, was hot out so I abandoned that for now .
Will probably attempt it again by the weekend. I had a clutch issue about 6 months ago and they put the ZL1 pedal assembly in mine don't think the brackets are much different, from what I was told its more of a clutch master difference
