Performance Friction Brake Z-Rated Performance Pads
 

Last Friday I was at LCMT with the Camaro for another full Track day , I’ve spent 2 hours and 20 minutes pushing the SS at 8 & 9/10th.
By the end of the afternoon, I've pretty much killed my OEM Brake pads. In the past few years I’ve tried different brand and compound but always came back to the OEM Brembo Spec since they offer the best for Street/track for the $$$ IMHO.

Now, I’m following a lot of the Camaros racing in the PWC, Grand-Am Continental, Trans-Am, Rolex and I like a lot what Black Dog Speed Shop is doing to their winning Camaro so I I’ve went to get what they are using for brakes:

Of course they are using the Race compound pads but I found that PFCBrakes have a Carbon/Metallic compound for Severe Street/track duty called Z-RATED for about $100 a front pair.

This afternoon I'm going to replace my front pads with PFC Z-Rates Pads (PN#1001.11) and see if they are better.
I’ve been told by an individual owning Subaru’s STI that they are excellent in both conditions.
WE will see…
I’ve also notice that no one in this forum I’ve talked about them…anyone has tried them?

Okay so initial impression: YEAH BABY!! Super quick bite. ABS came in a lot faster than before on a 80mph hard deceleration to 40mph.

I have looked over the PDF site and cannot find the operational temperature range for these pads. Any chance that ws included with the pads?

mike ive use pfc pads in the past and they were great. i thought the z-pads were a little loose cold but once warmed up they were amazing, im actually looking for them for my zl1 conversion

Yes, I'm reporting back about them.
They are great.
Less initial bite compare to OEM when cold. But it's nothing bad or unacceptable.
I took them on track for 6 sessions of 20 minutes and they perform great.
They are best at high temperature on a progressive pedal push, they will lock the wheels if to push too hard too quick.
Still more than half of the pads left with 1800 miles since installation.

For street use they ONLY lightly squeal at the end a low friction pedal push to a stop. (Like in heavy stop and go traffic)
Dusting is similar to OEM...which is a lot! I'm cleaning my Wheel once a week at least...
For the Price I love them.

I know that PFC is very secretive about their compound.

I wish I knew that too...
