News thread this morning - "7 American Cars Worth Bailing Out"

I just opened my browser this morning and this is what popped out at me ..

"Purists will quibble over tacky gadgets in the cockpit and certain compromises, like limited rear visibility. Who cares. The Camaro offers looks to linger over and affordable thrills that couldn’t be more timely."

I like that :)

Nice! I think there are more cars than that that are worth saving but really nice to see the Camaro on top of that list. Thanks for the post!

A quote from this mornings MSN Muscle Car Review..............

"Chevy’s just-released Camaro delivers the base LS and LT V6 and performance-happy SS V8 models, but its highly anticipated Z28 flagship now appears stillborn. Developed and ready for production, the exciting Z28 is not likely to appear while General Motors is under such scrutiny that President Barack Obama is dictating who’ll run the company."

Is the Z28 really alive and not stillborn and waiting to be born????????????? I have not heard anything anywhere about this.....is there news from our friends on the inside????????

This could make my decision to wait on the purchase of the 5th Gen justified instead of me being lazy.

I thought it was pretty cool that the Camaro was at the top of the list and the only one to get pictured. For those of us with ATT/Yahoo it appears on the news pop up on the top of our browser home page and this is the story you get when you click on the link !

The first car I bought was a first gen f-body, I am really glad to see this car coming back and being done sooooo well.

Nothing official on the Z28.

I'm suprised to read enthusiasm for this car from so many places sometimes. It seems like there are some people who are willing to open their minds and see that these cars are not the same as the ones that preceeded it.

Very encouraging indeed :)

Yeah I am trying to convince the wifey to get one of these at the end of this year

2010 Equinox just looks AMAZING ...

She is a HONDA fangirl and thinks HONDA is the best cars on earth .. My only problem is we have an 8th gen civic ( the newer body ) and the A Pillar obstructs your view and one day she almost got broadsided because of the stupid pillar in the way . Even tho it has a 5 star all around crash test rating That pillar should have brought it to around a 2 star. We will have to see how it looks in the 2010 Equinox.. I need more ways to convice her to get this car ....

and the inside looks amazing.
and, did anyone else notice that GM won with the 4 cars on the worthy list?
ford 2, chrysler 1.

I think it looks cool, but it looks like a made over Toyota Matrix... just like the Pontiac Vibe. The Vibe was just a Matrix with different bumper covers etc.. alot like the difference between the Chevy Silverado and the GMC Sierra... or the 3rd Gen Camaro - Firebird.

Still looks nice!!:headbang:
