Cost of Coverting Headlights to HID Halos ?
Has anyone done this? What exactly did you buy? How hard was it to do this?
Thanks |
Depends on what you want. You can do it cheaply by adding halos to your headlamps or if you are looking to do the OEM GM halo headlamps you are talking mega bucks and headache. I went the GM route and you have to buy the HID headlamps, complete wiring harness from headlamps to switch and then you must wire in capacitors and diodes to make them work. Its personal preference. I was impatient on waiting for an RS model and bought the SS with all the options I wanted and added the headlamps myself. If you want factory halos, buy an RS car, its cheaper and easier. Aftermarket halos are only a couple hundred bucks and look good too. Hope this answers your questions.

OEM is way more than $1000 to do complete conversion. Justin has some really nice kits and lots of options.

Can the aftermarket Halo's in red be added to a NON-RS car or is it only for cars that have the stock halo's?
Also, I dont have my car yet, so when do the Halo's come on? Do they come on with the headlights or are they independent? |
Halo kits are only for non RS cars. You can have them come on with parking lights and be on with headlights. You can also add a remote for them as well.
