Those that think the ZL1 is a 12.5 second car are mistaken. With a good driver, and in good conditions, we'll see plenty of high 11 second runs in completely stock configurations. I wonder what time they hit exactly? Either way, not bad for a dusty track at high elevation.

My favorite part of the video was Randy's assessment of the vehicle. Good stuff. :thumbup:

This drives me crazy! Why does everyone say when the 2013 gt500 comes out we will put it up against the ZL1. Like the 2012 gt500 doesn't exist!!!!

Thats not a bad thing for a SC car. I wish they would have said the time in the 3.8 second 60ft run. WTF for leaving that info out?!?!?!?:mad0260: Finally they put a good driver in the seat! If my 1/4 mile math is correct, that 3.8 sec run would put the ZL1 at about a 11.7 second quarter mile. Nice:thumbup:

This video is fake. I heard this car can only do 4.6 0-60 and 12.7 in the 1/4 mile. Also, who cares about some track in Germany? How does that relate to any track in the USA?

Well the high performance auto industry uses the Ring as the base for which a car like this can perform. If a vehicle is able to do well there, then they know that it will do very well in the states.

And why do you feel the video is fake? What does the producer of the show have to gain by giving out false informantion?

That's not a good thing either though, right? I know that high elevation affects NA much more, but you don't think the ZL1 would benefit at all from a run at a low elevation?

Correct. It would most likely trap 1 mph higher and gain a very small amount in the 1/4.

Exactly, this dude proved simply knowing how to bang gears with mode 5 on will net u very low bottem 12's all day long. Than knowing how to actully use the clutch and gas pedal will get u into the 11's.
Btw this is an extension of the motortrend review. ignition is a sister reviewer of motortrend.
Bring on the 2012 GT500SVTPP, for crying out loud.

Exactly. What I think that this video showed is what some already knew, and that is that a 1964 1/2 Mustang based on a Falcon suspension with a 170 CID 101 HP inline 6 would clearly outperform the 2012 ZL1! :sm0:

The skid pad sure seemed to be dusty and it still managed 1G.... Impressive!

The ZL1 is so bad ass that dust don't phase it.

Same engine as the ZR1? 290HP at each rear wheel? This review was kind of sloppy, and it didn't give us any hard numbers. What did it actually run? 0-60 in 3.8 and the quarter in "under" 12 seconds; CORRECTED?

How about just giving us some real numbers without any guesswork?

The numbers don't really matter, if your going to buy one your gonna no matter what. Will it out run it's current competition, YES that's all that matters.
