Thanks! Actually it is. Another Evo owner told me that red, white, and black for that year (and a couple other years) were all single stage.

Interesting. Didn't know that... I think Toyota has a few colors that are still single stage too... wonder why?

Ya a friend of mine had a red 2003 Evo the Red has a 1 stage paint hence no actual separate clear coat hence the "red buffer pads" But man what a save you did
