I have seen rumors on Gamespot about 2013.

You won't see anything until next June. You'll never see new console announcements in the third quarter of the year, because no matter WHEN the consoles are scheduled to come out, an announcement in the third quarter would sabotage their Holiday sales numbers for the current generation.

djsnoflake 11-03-2011 09:20 AM

Yeah, I am expecting something announced at E3 this year

Everything I've read so far has them waiting till 2014 to release any new consoles. They said theres so much life still left in the current systems theres no reason to upgrade yet.

Silverlsinva 11-03-2011 03:26 PM

i believe the playstation people have said the ps3 to have a 10 year life span so might be awhile.

Muscle SS 11-03-2011 03:29 PM

What's a ps3?
Xbox 369 ftw.

From what I understand, PS3 is intended to last for a longgg time(dont expect a ps4 for a while) and the 360 is supposed to be updated and continued to be released as a 360, but with better hardware to support new games.

Honestly, the idea of just upgrading a console and allowing it to continue to play the "old generation" of games is probably the best.

The only downside the 360 has right now is that it uses DVDs instead of Blu-Rays for it's games, so a lot of bigger games are coming with 2 - 3 discs now for the 360. It could also use some larger hard drives for it as I know a few people that are running out of space on their current drives.

Anyone who even buys a remotely close to new 360 is getting a 80gb hd minimum I believe. I bought a kinect brand new for 200 and it has a 250gb hd. I'd hope people are trading in their first generation 360's for a newer one by now, lol.

Totally agree though, the 360 needs to read blu-ray.

No Xbox 720 coming ;)

Nope.

The base Xbox 360 has a 4GB drive on it which is just about worthless (but they sell it for $199 and can advertise that it's "cheaper" than the PS3). The 250gb one with a kinect is $399 anywhere so I don't know how you got it for $200, unless someone really needed the money or it fell off the back of the truck.

And yes it needs blu-ray

Ahhh CNN is giving away the details now.

SONY is releasing a full service TV in 2012 that will be internet and their games, they are are the only licence holder for google TV.

I predicted this many years ago but thought microsoft would of seen this first.

An all in one TV/PC/Game system in one.
