NEW 1LE Nurburgring Thread/Poll

Here are the results of my original thread from months ago.

With the recent 3:01 on VIR by a non-professional...let's review the Ring times again and see what people are thinking. See below and guess where the 1LE will fall. Notice the ZL1s time of 7:41 @ the top and the 2010 Camaro SS@ 8:20.

The 1LE on the ring is tough because the car is gear limited, no? I think it would loose many seconds due to that. However, seeing how a M3 CSL and STi are in the 7:50s I would at least give it that.

Post your poll guess :P The Ring is appx 3X longer than VIR GC but there are so many differences it IS hard to guess based on the VIR time......but it just shows what the 1LE is capable of.

I'm guessing that after almost 13 miles of the ring......the 1LE should be able to cut about 22-24 seconds from the 2010 time. I'm calling 7:58 or less(which is about 17 seconds behind the ZL1 time. Might be a little bit of a leap but I'm hopeful.

Probably not any time soon. They saved a lot of money by just running it at VIR. It would be nice if they drove it around the ring but I would be suprised.

Thanks maybe we should take donations and send me :)))) oh yeah stay tuned i will be at Laguna Seca 3-1-13 cant wait.

I believe it will run under 8:00 easy, but no faster than 7:50. I voted under 7:56 because I could see it hitting 7:55.

I am kind of glad GM didn't run the 1LE at the ring because let's be honest, we would not be paying $3,500 for this package if they spent the funds to take it over there, develop it, modify it etc. The car would've been very fast there and faster than many $100k+ cars, the marketing guys would've been all over this and increased the price.

Again, the only open question I have is the top speed on the 1LE considering that the ring has many fast sections. Maybe the SS did 8:20 due to the fact that it was just bouncing around 150...... is there a video of the SS running at the ring?

Can't find the SS video. They must have just published the times.

not yet, no vid :( We are talking AFTER the fact now that they have published the price and they can ship one there, OR use a customer car on the ring as often happens for track times.

Yeah, the end of the contender vid says "watch our other vids for results of each car" (paraphrasing) but they are nowhere. FAIL

VIR did it for me guys, seriously. I've waited for LL7 for ever but am bummed out they didn't include a 2013 boss 302. Again, 0.9 slower than 2013 GT500..... I can't stop grinning.

Faster than the GT500! They said if they had not lost 2 seconds on a missed shift they would have had an under 3:00 lap.

The question is, how much did Ford pay for that missed shift? :sm0:

Mgizzle 12-31-2012 02:16 PM

You are right, they did mention the time loss with the 1LE but whatever, didn't want to turn this into a speculation comment like the above "track was damp" from the Ford guys.
