Quick question about HID and Halo LIghts

I am really comfused about the headlights. I know the RS comes with halo lights, but they dont look bright enough to light up the road. Are there other lights and are these lights automatic? Can someone just give me a quick rundown of how the lights work with the SS/Rs?

from everything i've read, the center of the HIDs is the low & high beam (using a voltage switch to change). the halos are for looks, not road illumination. if you type HID in the search, you will find plenty of info. :)

the halo's themselves are just accent pieces for a different look. they surround the actual driving lights themselves.

Read this...

It's one perspective on HIDs.

so in what scenearios will you actually see the halos like in all the pictures that have been flying aroud. If you have the actual lights on, it would probally be hard to see the halos

Ea it is hard to say because the HIDs are going to be in a projector so depends on the angle you are looking at them at.

anyone have any idea?

Look at these pics (on a Jeep, but lots of different pics, angles, etc).

just when the Halos will actually show. If the lights are on at night, odds are you wont be able to see the halo rings, just the bright white light coming at you....

wavrun2000 11-02-2008 08:08 PM

They will probably be triggered by the parking lights

Dom 11-02-2008 08:21 PM

It's just like on BMWs.

They're probably like the BMW halos. They're always on, even when the headlights are on. If your viewpoint is above the cutoff on the projectors, you'll be able to see them because you'll get little of the HID glare.
