Metro Detroiters are encouraged to purchase
a commemorative flying lantern.

Ten thousand lanterns will be distributed
and will include a special note
directing consumers to light their lanterns
at 9:11pm on 9/11 and during this time
all CBS Detroit Radio stations will air
"God Bless America".

Listeners will also have the option to join CBS Radio at
Lake Erie or Metro Beach Metro Park
for a special ceremony dedicated
to the heroes and victims of 9-11.

CBS Radio will kick-off the event at 7pm with family fun activities,
bands, color guards and additional activities
prior to the 9:11pm lantern lighting.

If you cannot attend the metro park festivities…
please light your lantern outside at 9:11pm on 9/11
and tune your radio to either 99.5 WYCD, 104.3 WOMC,
98.7 AMP Radio or WWJ News Radio 950 to hear
God Bless America played in memory.
