Anyone have Race Seats installed?
Im looking for a replacement race seat with more support and more importantly more head clearance as with the stock seat and with my helmet on, I cant sit up comfrotably. I havent seen if anyone has a direct replacement or if they will have to be custom fabbed to fit. Any info is appreciated.

I have a pair of Cobra Suzuka Pro racing seats that are going in with a NHRA legal roll cage. The installation has already started.
I bought the seat mounts/slider brackets that are a bolt in solution for the 2010 Camaro for mounting the racing seats. I havn't tried them in the car yet.. we will be trial fitting them with me (and my Helmet) later this week at the chassis shop.If the mount doesn't fit (height wise - I am 5' 11"), my chassis shop will be custom making or modifying the ones I bought. I don't care about being able to move the seat forward/back. It is going to be positioned for me where I need it for driving position. The seats and mounts/sliders were purchased from Sube sports.(www.subesports.com) They do not have the 2010 Camaro sliders listed in the catalog, but have already made the mount for them. You would need to talk to them on the phone. I'll post some more info later this week after we trial fit the seat in the car. The biggest thing to be modified when replacing the seats are the airbags. There are airbags in the seats. I deleted all of the airbags in the car... as some of them will be an issue with the roll cage and lack of them in the new seats. I'll just wear my 5 point harness belts when driving on the street. |

+1 on the CTS-V seats  |

We made our brackets for the Kirky seats. You gotta find the wire in the harness for the seats that runs the AIR BAG and put an ohm in it, that keeps the light off.
The car is certified for 8.50's NHRA. |
600hp-lpe and OrangeChevyII could you guys post pics and let me know the exact models you guys ordered and any pros vs cons on each of them.

My roll cage is going to be certified for 8.50 as well.
here are pic's of the car stripped down to get ready for the build. Car is at the chassis shop now. They are starting on the cage today. We are going to trial fit the seat later this week with me in there and the helmet on. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1295401380 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1295401394 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/attach...1&d=1295401407 We are changing the steering wheel.. to this. http://www.advancespeedshop.com/imag...-DRF33BK1R.jpg Here are the seats that are going in. http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/pimg/Imola_Blk1_C.jpg |

They cost $899.00 each.. (con) Very comfortable, build quality is excellent! (pro) Cobra Suzuka Pro GT seat. |
My kirky seats are comfortable and affordable. 220 with the nice sear covers, bad part is fabing the seat brackets. It's a pretty good job.

Shit I dont know, the 17 inch alluminium ones. Nothing fancy, just as least heaviest ones as I could find. I honestly wish I had never put a cage in the car, its the point of no return. :(
When I drive the car I'm on top of the world, when it's a nice day and I cant fill it up with C16 and just drive.........it sucks. I would honestly give anything to have the car back to stock like the day I bought it. |
One other thing that sucks about your car vs mine is I dont have a sunroof, you need to tell whom ever is fabing the brackets to put the seat on the floor so you wont hit your helmet on the headliner.
