Pennzoil platinum is bang for your buck synthetic. It cleans just as good as Mobil1 And it's a little thicker so you would get more protection. Mobil1 Is a VERY Thin oil. I have pennzoil Ultra in my camaro now. It's a step up from there platinum. Cleans better. '''So they say'''

Mobil 1 @ 100°C is 11.0 cst
Pennzoil Platinum and Ultra @ 100°C is 10.3 cst

That makes Mobil 1 thicker, but the difference is negligible. I have never been a fan of Pennzoil. In the past it was a very poor oil, but it is one of the better oils on the market now. Pennzoil Ultra is definitely better than Platinum.
