Forgive my ignorance but I was looking at this car on ebay (Bad ass I must say) and never saw anything like what they had going on in the engine bay.. Is it a Strut Tower Brace? Anyone know? Who makes it?

It does look cool but I would question it's functionality

This has been posted before - by this I mean this strut brace on a Camaro. So yes, it is a strut tower brace. Down side (and why you shouldn't buy the car) is that the rods going to the front of the engine bay - they will stop the engine bay from collapsing in the event of a crash. Instead the energy from the crash will go through the engine bay and into the cabin.

I don't think a brace this big would make any difference on the drivability ,but it will help in case of a crash.

I also just noticed that they were mounted on the two struts. WTF is the point of it then?

All for looks.
Sent while on baby duty.... please sleep |
those heim joints are really going to prevent flexing...just like mounting it to the tops of the struts...which move. Wow.

Oh ok, so its made more for looks than function. It does look pretty mean though lol. Thanks for the info guys.

The brace
If you look real close to tne first pix you can see a some kind of fastener under the strut cap so dont think attavhed to strut at all. There was a girl and her dad building back last summer.
