It does look cool but I would question it's functionality

This has been posted before - by this I mean this strut brace on a Camaro. So yes, it is a strut tower brace. Down side (and why you shouldn't buy the car) is that the rods going to the front of the engine bay - they will stop the engine bay from collapsing in the event of a crash. Instead the energy from the crash will go through the engine bay and into the cabin.

This plus more. It looks as though the brace is attached to the struts rather than the strut towers thus not providing any rgidity to the strut towers. Movement from one strut will affect the opposing strut. The rods going forward are mounted on heim joints with no or very little triangulation rendering them inaffective. In the event of a front end collision that is not severe enough to cause extensive damage could result in strut damage. But it still looks cool . LOL

I don't think a brace this big would make any difference on the drivability ,but it will help in case of a crash.

I also just noticed that they were mounted on the two struts. WTF is the point of it then?

those heim joints are really going to prevent flexing...just like mounting it to the tops of the struts...which move. Wow. :rolleyes:

If you look real close to tne first pix you can see a some kind of fastener under the strut cap so dont think attavhed to strut at all. There was a girl and her dad building back last summer.
