Its ugly still lol.....GM needs a new car though. 5th gen is getting a little long in the tooth now. Im not surprised by mustang sales, but it still hasnt reached the 10k mark, the S197 in sales is still king atm for mustangs. Challenger is as expected as well...

Remember, when the S197 was introduced, there was no Camaro or Challenger to compete with for sales. It was no wonder that car sold so much, along with the styling nod to the 1st Gen cars. Camaro sales will likely rebound with the introduction of the 6th Gen but I am surprised the recent Camaro "fire sale" didn't have more of an impact in sales. I wonder what it would have looked like without the 20% of MSRP deals?

Thanks again for the numbers. Will be interesting to see if this Mustang jump actually has any momentum.

Looking at the Trend graph, Mustang is going up, Camaro down....Think it's been that way for several months now...

Chevrolet does not advertise the Camaro as much Ford does the Mustang. Its all about media exposure. Even some of the new shows have Mustangs in them (Sleepy Hollow, Grimm.. Etc..)

Yeah, since the refresh... 6th Gen will change all that

The jump in Mustang sales should be expected for an all new car, but the Camaro sales do seem to be falling off a cliff especially compared to the Challenger which has also been around a while. The 20% rebate was only for December, and most of the numbers here are for this year only. What will really be interesting is when the 6th gen Camaro comes out. If it's as good as I expect it to be the sales will probably pass the Mustang pretty quick.

Thought the discount ran through the first week of January? In any case, I would not expect the demand for the 6th Gen Camaro to be as great as it was for the 5th Gen, as the former came after a long hiatus of Camaro production. Undoubtedly the performance will be there, but the jury is still out as to whether the new styling will be as well received as the 5thGen. We'll know soon enough!

The only reason the Mustang has more sales is because they market to women. So thats why I call mustang owners Pony Girls.

I can see you put a lot of deep thought and research into this...

Oh and your casual misogynism isn't really cool.

I agree 100% The Camaro was dead for years and also the 5th gen was "something different" when it was introduced, combine that with the Transformers franchise and you have a recipe for 2nd place!
