Score me some Valley tix.....We'll make you a GREAT DEAL!

stovt001 07-13-2008 08:48 PM

Captain Awesome, dude, breathe. Let it go. We got over our gas cap thing. You can get over this, I promise. But please, let it go.

Anyway, I wouldn't expect pricing on the 22nd as Scott said that pricing is pretty much one of the last things they nail down on new cars. Maybe ballpark figures, but I wouldn't expect a full pricing sheet for every trim and accessory. Of course I won't feel bad at all if I'm wrong.

drivingincamaro 07-14-2008 01:27 AM

so were can i get these air jordans? :paddle

the camaro will be similar priced to the mustang but i wouldnt know anything

Hah, a good enough deal to pay for a one way ticket from dallas and about 500 bucks in gas? If so, that would be a great way to break in the car so by the time I got back home I could open her up on some rustangs...:chevy:

I thought that when breaking in a new engine its not a good idea to leave it at the same revs for a long time. If that's true then I'd say a long highway trip is a terrible way to break in a new car.

For the first 500 miles I wouldn't hold it at a constant speed for a long period. Just vary the speed.....cruise at the speed limit for a while...mash the pedal and run it up 15 or 20 mph then let it coast back down. Do that at random intervals. You just need to seat the rings good before you run it full throttle very much. Hilly highway terrain would actually be good for the first 500 or so miles.

I still don't fully understand why the camaro wasn't allowed the gas cap on the top. Sure it's sorta risky..but look at the Audi TT 32 Quattro.

Sorry to bring this up yet again. but - someone clarify as to why the Camaro can't have one.

radz28 07-14-2008 10:20 AM

Who says you have o go the same speed the whole time? :)

The platforms are different. The pipe-routing that the Zeta Camaro needs was probably different than that of the Audi TT; effecting crash-tests. And.....how much does that car cost?;)

I'm not sure...but I think I remember reading that the cap on the concept was a fake, too....

pinkcamaro10 07-14-2008 04:32 PM

you are right, they filled it up through the trunk.

I know when my wife and I bought her Mazda, the dealer said drive at varying speeds for about the first 500 miles and not to use Cruise control until 1000. The varying speeds part was easy since the drive to work everyday takes me through a 25 zone, 35 zone, 65 zone, a 45 zone, and a 30 zone. Got the varying speeds part taken all care of.

Just place the order with us, we'll ship it to your local chevy dealer for delivery. No more 500 mile drive. :w00t:

This is a general question, but I guess I'll use you as an example. If we were to buy from a dealership, say in Wisconsin. What happens if we need to bring in the car for some type of warranty service? Can we bring it to any Chevy dealership? How does that work exactly?

Thanks for being a part of the community!

You can take it to any chevy dealer.

CamaroScotty 07-17-2008 01:55 PM

Yes, the warranty work can be done by any Chevy dealer. I have seen some dealers in southern states refuse to work on cars they didn't sell.....Just what I've heard from some Vette customers I've dealt with. But warranty money is as good as cash, so if one dealer won't do it, I'm sure many others will.

5thGenAnyone? 07-17-2008 03:34 PM

CamaroScotty, I've got a question sir. I have never bought a new car before so I just want to be clear on how this works. That $1000 deposit you are talking about, is that just to ensure that I would get a camaro on the day of release in exactly the color, engine type, and options that I want? And also does that money go to the final price of the vehicle? I'm just a little foggy on how it all works, if you could explain it would be much appreciated. Im stationed down in California right now but i'll be home for good in late october so im sure ill just come down and see you in person anyways around that time.

That holds a spot in our first round of allocation....meaning your order would be one of the first we submit. I would email you all the available options & colors, and prices for all of the options. The deposit is applied to the price of the car and is 100% refundable at any time.

Just let me know when you're ready. I have some comfort room for round one yet. I expect that may change next week. We will not take more deposits than we have allocation for, unless someone states they want us to, in order to get into the next round of orders. And refundable at any time.

Usually, I hate speculation. We should all aim high, but know that we're aiming high.

For example, expect the base V6 to cost $23k even though we're almost certain that it will cost closer to $20k. This forces you to save up more for the car's down payment, and it allows you to feel really good about the low pricing Chevrolet is going to offer.

Mr. Wyndham 07-18-2008 10:21 PM

Agreed..............but, speculation?;)

4thGen 07-19-2008 06:13 PM

I don't see how the V8 will cost under $30,000 AND have 400hp+. The G8 GT costs $30,000 and has "only" 361hp. Why would the big bad muscle car cost less than the family sedan AND have more power? I don't see it happening.

That's exactly what I've been wondering. The G8 GXP is supposed to be $38,000 with 402HP. I have no idea how the Camaro V8's will be priced below a less powerful G8 GXP...

Mr. Wyndham 07-19-2008 07:55 PM

:D

Then, by this logic...there's no way a V6 Camaro can be priced near $20k; the G8 is above $27,000!;)

I guess I'll find out in 1 days, 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 58 seconds.

carsismeZ06 07-19-2008 08:45 PM

got this from http://consumerguideauto.howstuffworks.com/2010-chevrolet-camaro.htm'

Quote:

2010 Chevrolet Camaro Prices: They're a bit hard to predict, what with an on-sale date nearly a year away. But GM has said Camaro will be a premium car, and it won't compete with the Ford Mustang on price. Our guesstimate: The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 coupe will start around $22,000 with the V8 model around $28,000. Convertibles will likely start at around $28,000 for a V6 model and range up to $35,000 for a V8.
