So glad to be back... Once again... I am "Free"

I want to start out by saying its been years since i have owned a Car that motivated me enough, To take the steps and go online looking for a forums to be a part of to educate and completely enjoy my new car.

Looked around and really liked these forums.. So I will call this place home for at least the next few years.

I love to read long posts and sometimes I make a few myself.. So apologizes in advance if this is one of those.

My First Car ever was a 1978 Camaro... i was 16.. the year was 1996..... Since then i went on to feed this chevy addiction.

From working never ending jobs and spending summers on end working while it seemed like the rest of the world was having fun...

But once I had tasted a bite of the "American dream"... i knew that I couldn't Stop until i had a "real" Sports car...

My 1978 Metallic red Camaro Was with a 305...

The one "Wheel wonder!" they would call me ..

While i would Slam My foot into the Ground at any chance of a right turn, in hopes that i would be able to hear even the faintest sound of tire hell Against the hot summer asphalt...

I wouldn't know what a true and justifiable response to "Light Em up!!!" really meant until a few laters when I purchased my Second Camaro..

The year was 1997 and music was still alive and well... Every girl was bi-sexual and almost everyone either had a Tribal tattoo or A tongue ring...

All the hard work paid off.... and I was the owner of a pristine ... Shinny... Mean looking..

1994 Z28 Camaro with pretty much every bolt on you could ask for... I bought it like that ...

Over the next few years i learned what exhausts and intakes and Systems that make the ground shake...

Now i was Full blown addicted to the bow tie injections...

The Z28 stayed with me into my Early twenties... it earned me so much red light respect... and it granted me more fun times then I can even explain in a 4 mile long post... ;)

The year was 2003... and it was time to become a man.... (Still have Patches of Facial hair that i can't grow yet... its not a beard guys... its a damn reason to be looked at twice..)

2003... The Economy is Off the Hook!!! This is before the fall of the housing market and so on..

I had Finally been working for myself for the past few years...

That Faithful Z28 that had been there for me through the birth of donuts and insurance points...

was now showing its Age... The arizona sun showed no mercy to this NJ Born and Raised Z28...

It was time....

I think purchased a 1997 C5 Corvette...

Everything would change... I would never look at These chevy monsters the same....

to make what could be a Very Long story shorter..

one jeep .... Another Corvette and a Infiniti G37S (Blah...) and I ended up to this past weekend...

I bought a 2012 Camaro 2SS Convertible !!!!

Paid about 24 out the door has 30k Miles on it. no Scratches or anything like that. interior is a 9/10 (one small Mark on dash) all options from what I can Tell minus the better Screen radio.. (Really what is up with this radio ? YUCK.. Im one of them into them big screen Navigation System type Guys)

i instantly felt 3 hours younger!!!

I have only had it for a few days... And its like it does something to me... I know that might sound 100% bat shit Crazy... but this Car brings a joy to my life that is unexplainable to someone that has never owned anything like this before..

its a tradition... its a legacy and part of the American dream.

Its also .... Still made of plastic and other Scary "OMG DID I REALLY PAY all that money for this rattling Sound??"

i am not saying that this Car is no good.. I LOVE IT !!! in fact maybe i just need to Retrain what i think of when i hear or Drive a Camaro..

Things have changed since 1997... This Car is a New beast ..

I have a few things that i will be posting in a separate post about some "issues" that i am having.. and Already what the chevy dealerShip Wants to Repair under Warranty... but I will leave that for some where else..

I just wanted to Say Hello and share My new car with you guys.. After all your all now Extended Internet Family Right ?

Thank You for Your Time and sorry for wasting it if so lol

Welcome and congrats.

Hell, except for the years being off by 1 or 2 here and there, I thought I was reading my own bio LOL.

Welcome to the 5th Gen rag top club. I remember when I first bought mine, how excited I was. It was only 9 months ago . So I am still kind of excited. But I love my vert. I have since put quite a few mods on mine. Have fun man.

Welcome!
I'm not sure what rattling sound you speak of though...... Mine is really quiet and I'm amazed that GM managed to put together such a tight car.

Welcome aboard ! Nice Vert, looks great. 2013 was 1st year of 7" touchscreen. Hope yours was late model 2012 to have the water bag for vert top better (2011 & early 2012s had drainage issue) If you are really motivated to get touchscreen, there are companies that do it.

Here's my 2013 with touchscreen:

How can I get more information about my car? Like what options it came with and if it's an early or late 2012?

PostNup 02-26-2017 09:55 AM

Make friends with your dealer service advisor.

Not sure what part of the valley you are in , but I work with Chris E. At Freeway. He does all the Camaros and Vettes at that dealership. Good dude, and so far... mod friendly. Someone in the procurement depth might even be able to get you the Gantt chart. That shows not just every option but also the date it was installed. Looks a lot like a Microsoft Project Plan.

Look down past/behind left side of radiator, you will find your "born" sticker. I use camera & zoom. Her's what it looks like...

Would love to get the sheet that's on the window when it was purchased.

PostNup 02-26-2017 06:57 PM

Dealer will be able to get this. Don't let anyone tell you different as this is what I did :)

Takes about a week!!!
