Camaro Dusk Edition Coming Soon?! Production Parts Appear in System

3 Attachment(s)

Don't know if this is some big secret that I'm going to have the Black Suburbans after me for, but I was at work (dealer) looking up foglight trim bezels from the 45th edition to put in my 2010 SS and I found something interesting. In addition to the standard black bezels, and the silver 45th bezels there was a third option.....Dusk edition. They were not available, and were shown as "in production" and that is about all it would give us.

Is the Dusk concept coming to reality?

Original Press Release:

Inspired by the style of young, urban professionals, the Camaro Dusk concept rolls with a contemporary tuner aesthetic. It is understatedly aggressive looking, with a lowered ride height, new 21-inch wheels, the rear spoiler from an SS model and a custom ground effects package.

“This is a car with an international flair, bringing the Camaro to a place it hasn’t traditionally been,” said Parker. “It is a very tailored look that is stylish and sophisticated, but with a distinct American accent.”

The ground effects package includes a racing-inspired front splitter, rocker extensions and a rear diffuser. They are prototype parts that may enter production as dealer-available accessories at a later date; the same goes for the 21-inch wheels from BBS. Many of the details, such as the taillamp and fog lamp bezels, match the finish of the wheels, lending a more premium look to the car.

The Camaro Dusk’s body is painted Berlin Blue, while the ground effects are painted a contrasting color. Additional performance items include the exhaust system and Brembo brakes from a Camaro SS (with painted calipers). The interior is trimmed in stylish Jet Black and Sedona, with complementing features including footwell lighting, premium door sill plates and other details.

Today’s young professionals expect advanced technology and premium audio options and this concept delivers with a crisp, well-tuned Boston Acoustics sound system, WiFi connectivity and a convenient cradle for an iPhone.

Sounds pretty cool, hope it does.

I'm making some phone calls to get to the bottom of this.

Chevrolet has made the point in the past that they plan on having limited edition Camaros availible. They just finished the run on the T3 Camaro, and the Synergy Series a little while ago. So who knows, maybe the Dusk is the next one.

M3NTA7 02-24-2012 11:03 AM

Is there any way to look up how many were made for different runs?

I've got the TF3 Edition and I'm curious about that.

Thx

I'm not sure of the numbers for the T3, but the other 2 transformer series were posted on the forum awhile go. You might have to do some digging to find it.

The sales guys will be the LAST to know in a dealer, if it hasn't been publicly announced, they will have no info. I don't know why I was even able to find this without a car being announced.

I really hope they make the Dusk Edition. It was my favorite at SEMA that year.

Now THIS would be cool! Hopefully they make the dusk camaro interior available! I definitely think I would trade in my CGM on a Dusk edition!

The Dusk Camaro has always sort of reminded me of a Pontiac Firebird Esprit (ala Rockford Files). Call it a stripped down SS, with a bit more refinement to it.
