How do Black or White 1LE look in person

Trying to decide on black or white. I have seen photos, but never see any photos of them together with same lighting.

For you guys that have seen them in person how do they look? Do you have any good photos to compare with? Does the black look to monotone? Thanks.

mcsoul 02-25-2013 12:40 PM

I'd go with white over black. For some reason I like the hood wrap on all colors but
black and blue. I think it looks particularly good in white, would really be set off with
some black ZL1 rockers too (only $350).

I'd probably remove the wrap if I got a black or blue one, and still be thrilled.

Hmm. I've seen both. I would say a clean looking black 1LE, just being washed is amazing. Clean and very sleek looking(especially at dusk). White on the other hand stands out, especially considering the black vinyl hood on any given day or time. Another beautiful color.

Each one has its pros and cons, just depends on what you like. I was also torn between the 2 colors as well as BRM. Needless to say I went with the BRM. My favorite color is white btw. I attached two 1LEs I was looking at locally. Hope this helps...

Here is the BRM I ended up taking home but sold, lol. :)

I love the side angle shots, lol. Goodluck on your decision!

djnice 02-25-2013 01:44 PM

Thanks for the photos. I really like the black look it seems like it highlights the camaro bulges better, but I know how hard black is to keep clean and swirl free.

I wonder how they look on the track or in the pits.

menendez1293 02-25-2013 01:46 PM

I personally love the white 1LE. If I could order another Camaro right now that is exactly what I would order. I even think I would take it over the ZL1 and mod the 1LE to my taste with the left over money. But that is just me personally

Np!

I could careless how it looks on a track of in a pit. Be concerned with how it looks in your driveway. Just saying. :)

Did you actually make it home? :D

White with the 1LE is a no brainer.

Yeah, lol :) Here is the BRM in the drive way.

stickystuff 02-25-2013 04:20 PM

I had same problem black or white. So I went in the middle with ashen grey :)

PYROLYSIS 02-25-2013 04:53 PM

Don't ask me for color advice. :). I would go black if it's between that and white, but really I haven't seen an ugly 1LE yet. Try to see one in person if you can. Personally I'll end up with Victory Red if the 2014s don't come out with a color I have to have.

IMHO, I think ALL 1LE's look badass!!! personally I went with the Blue Ray Metallic....waiting now for it to arrive!

Bruce@raymondsperformance 02-25-2013 07:49 PM

They all look great,I went with white.

Mgizzle 02-25-2013 08:54 PM

I tried to stay away from black but when I saw it in person I was speechless. U have to see them in person.

white1LE 02-25-2013 09:27 PM

I actually lost sleep when I ordered mine wondering if I made the right decision. But as soon as I first laid eyes on it at the dealership, it only took a split second to know I made the right decision. I do love the all black look!!! Just didn't want to spend so much time cleaning and to have it dusty and dirty looking 5 min later.

coreyaustin17 02-26-2013 01:46 AM

i think white looks amazing obviously hahaha ..... storm trooper that sucker out

Cooley 02-26-2013 02:04 AM

I went with orange...The contrast is amazing and gets a lot of compliments.

A couple of guys in my neighborhood have 1968's and 1967's in the garage, always look good in orange. I bet they would rush my house if I came home with an orange 1le

i liked the white. i also like the IOM.

grats on new car!

BigBlock69RS 02-26-2013 09:43 AM

Between the black or white I think the white looks better has some nice contrast. If you like the black, take serious look at BRM or even AGM, the matte wrapped hood looks better alongside something else other than black IMHO.

I do like the orange, I am just not sure I want to stand out that much all of the time.

If your even slightly OCD about your paint get the white one the black will drive you nuts, but nothing looks better than swirl free glossy black.

 love those cars:D

djnice 02-28-2013 08:19 AM

Well it turns out I can get my hands on a black one now, but I can't find a white one within a 1000 miles. The black one isn't here yet, but should be soon. Not sure if I should wait as it seems these are hard to get, and I loose my private offer money.

t&t moyer 02-28-2013 08:22 AM

We went with white, if it wasn't that it would have been Victory Red.

ziloh22 05-09-2013 10:33 AM

old bump but, they both look good.. def getting harder to find white as time goes by...

Camaro_Corvette 05-09-2013 11:24 AM

They both looks awesome in person. You have a tough choice ahead of you.

/thread LOL

I AM a little partial to the white :P

tbirdsleeve 05-09-2013 11:43 AM

White--period :-)

Southern Comfort 05-09-2013 11:58 AM

I had a 2010 black SS, and wanted white for the 1LE.
Depending on your environment, white is likely easier to keep looking good.
Pollen, swirls and paint chips stand out on a black car.
Tar & oil stands out on white.
Then there's the wrap...

gajagfan 05-09-2013 01:25 PM

The white 1LE is lighter in color than the black 1LE. As far as my preference, I have only owned one non-black car in the last 20 years!

They're all good.

bluBlud 05-09-2013 04:03 PM

I went with white too, but seriously considered black. In the end, it was too blacked out for me though I would likely have gotten black paint if they offered the 10 spokes in polished aluminum or even titanium grey. Black paint is also harder to maintain.... but 1 thing I didn't consider getting white is the black plastic under the paint. So, paint chips show real easy on the white bumper:( If you get white, set aside extra $ for a clear-bra and start looking for a good installer in your area.

You can't really go wrong either way. Both are awesome and have trade offs relative to one another.

RoadMonkey 05-09-2013 04:22 PM

looks like djnice went with a SIM ZL1 =) I love the look of the car in Black, but I would go with White. Black? White? Silver is a good compromise =)

OptimusPlez 05-09-2013 11:45 PM

Tough decision. All colors have their merits. I didn't have options when I bought one a month ago. Only one in Washington state that was for sale and it was black. It is nice to have options. You can't go wrong either way.

dr damon 05-10-2013 09:51 PM

I just saw a black 1LE last week around sunset. My goodness the thing looked sweet. Had me thinking maybe I should trade my SGM SS for an all black 1LE. Was pondering a 2014 with recaros. I hAve only owned black cars prior to now. Trying to stay out of this forum.

Bosse'sBoss 05-13-2013 08:36 PM

Black it looks much better in person than in pictures. Very Great looking Camaro!!
