Where is the Thermostat located on a 2012 V6
 
My camaro is overheating and the heater is blowing out cold air!!

1. Remove the heater inlet/outlet pipe assembly bolts.

2. Remove the heater inlet/outlet pipe assembly.

3. Remove and discard the heater inlet/outlet pipe assembly O-ring and gasket.

4. Remove the thermostat housing assembly bolts.

5. Remove the thermostat housing assembly.

6. Remove and discard the thermostat housing assembly O-ring and gasket.

ohh So its behind the engine! Thank you all the diagrams i was looking at was showing that it was in the front. i guess they are not in the same place as the v8

Have you checked the coolant level? Overheating engine plus no heat may be due to low coolant level, so that there's no coolant up in the heater core.

This has happened to me on some other cars that don't have a visible surge tank.

I was losing coolant too, since the car was new. Many years later found the source, since it was getting worse you couldn't miss it. It's that pipe at the top front of the engine that the coolant hose connects to. You will have to remove it and replace the o-ring where it mounts. I found it easier to just order a new one, it's not called what you would think it would be called ;)
