How many keys do you get?

Hopefully not too premature, but for those that have their Camaro already, how many copies of keys did you get with the vehicle?

Hanzo 07-17-2009 05:11 PM

bolteon593 07-17-2009 06:42 PM

2 key FOBS. don't know exactly how much to replace...but it isn't cheap. it is rediculous though, like $400 or something

$52 something. Which I feel like is way too cheap. That's for the remote+cut key.

i thought you can't just get it cut. cause it has technology like a code or something programmed in so that the car CANNOT be started unless it is that key with that programming. my mom's civic has something similar and she was told that is was like $250 to get a new one.

I talked to a Mechanic when I was looking at a camaro in MS that was being detailed in Chevrolets garage and he said they cost about 600 dollars because they are laser cut keys. He seemed to know A LOT about the 2010 camaro.

I have heard that laser cut keys are expensive. We need a Chev expert to get the facts.

Did anybody else have a white lube on their keys?

You must have been really excited when you got your keys!

Vash 07-17-2009 08:20 PM

The lube probably came from the ign cyl. I'll leave it at that.. yes there are a lot of me, myself and irene grocery store line jokes you could make.

swaugie 07-17-2009 10:59 PM

our parts manager said that the machine to cut them is around $6000 dollars. i wouldn't expect too many dealers will invest in one so keep good track of both of yours!
