Out with the Old, In with the ...Orange [COTW 11/11/13]

Okay, after all the battles (mostly lost) trying to tune the LLT, I have offically given up. We started working on seeing what it would take to get the ECU from a 2012 to work with the LLT, but it was just too big a project. So...
Today I took ownership of a 2012 2LT/RS LFX. Ryan has already connected to it with EFI Live and is working with them on a few tweaks for the transmission connectivity. The plan is to do some base pulls and then let them develop a stock tune. After that we will start the twin turbo build anew. Right now Ryan's taking all the good parts off my car to swap what we can. I'll post a link to my classified ad for the parts I can use (like ported heads, ported intake manifold, shorty headers, intake isolator, etc..), so keep an eye out for that you LLT guys. And now for some pics of the new ride. I keep playing with that idea...
Anyways, green was nice but lovin' the new color  |
I love that color, congrats
|
...and now the secret is out!!
Congrats Derrick...that is one fine lookin machine there. How are you enjoying the upscale interior and the LFX engine? Probably hard for you to directly compare the 2012 to your 2010 since it is so modified. At least you won't have to deal with Vince any longer and tunes should come much easier hopefully! |
HOLY CRAP!
Yeah I know what you mean about the tuning issue but all of the work that I've done to my car I just don't think I could do it. Congrats, can't wait to monitor your build! |
Congratulations sir. I am fond of that color as well.
It does concern me a little...you being the TT pioneer and mine being install here soon. Can't wait to see what you do it though! |
Get the **** outta here lmao!! I'm about to go buy me a Mustang now lol!! Nice Derrick!! Now there is only one again!!

The interior is a very nice upgrade to the 2010. I also went without the sunroof so I won't have to lean the seat way back when I have my helmet on. |

We are swapping everything from the tranny back on to the 2012 and putting the new LLT I was going to build into this one. All the suspension parts as well as the wheels/tires are of course going to be swapped. We are also going to do some custom striping, ala the COPO, so SIXJAK wasn't far off I guess. |
Well I will say, I'm happy to see you stuck it out and stayed with a V6 and didn't just trade up to the SS. I think I may have taken the dark path to eight cylinders if I was in your shoes

Congrats on the new ride. Will be watching the new build build closely. I guess it time someone took the LFX platform to another level. Waiting to see them results.

Good luck Gretchen ! Coming from a fellow SGM owner it was great watching you take the LLT to its limits but sad to see the brick wall also unfortunately. Hopefully someone figures out this damn tuning problem.
|
Thanks everyone. I think this is going to be fun and very interesting. Learned a lot from the LLT and expect to learn even more from the LFX.
|
cant wait to see the new build in progress. I guess the integrated exhaust manifold wont matter since your gonna turbo it. so prolly a pretty good idea going to LFX. Good luck with the build.
|
With a little relocation, you can mount the turbos direct to the heads....
|
Congrats on the new ride!!
|
Like the new color Derek, Im about to text the pictures over...

Congrads Gretchen.. It's really nice to have the opportunity to tune your vehicle on-site along with the added goodies of the LFX!
Nice color change too, always staying with the "stand-out" colors :) |

Are you gonna do a double catch can again?
|
Probably not. Aaron is still thinking about the design, but probably going to go vacuum pump again.
|
So much green!

Actually, I'm driving the IOM for a couple of days. They still need to put the new motor in Gretchen before they start working on it. Will drop it off on Friday, if I can get it away from the wife. She loves orange and the backup camara. Big mistake letting her drive it. |

The LFX has several areas where it should allow for higher boost and even more power than we could get out of the LLT. I can't wait to see just how quick this car will be after it is finished!!!
