Positive Pricing Information - At Least on CTS-V!

Looks like there is some info on Canadian pricing for the CTS-V in Canada:
MSRP is noted as $68,500, (excluding $1420 freight).
This is published in an ad for the CTS-V appearing on the front page of the "Hot Wheels '09" section in today's National Post.

I am pleasantly surprised as this car lists for $59,995 in the U.S. and the Canadian price is basically the difference in the exchange at this point... so no outright gouging by GM Canada.

Hopefully this is a positive sign as to how GM Canada intends to set pricing for the new Camaro in the next little while!!

Best regardSS,

Elie

As long as you realize Wayne Gretzky is the answer to any sports trivia question.

Hey, that is good news!

If the SS/RS is over priced might have to step up to a CTS-V coupe, bwahhaaa. (j/k)

Thanks for the info

Seeing that the CTS-V will be a limited edition vehicle, 14 % is really good. I can see G.M. pricing the Camaro at a better percentage rate...... I hope !!

The waiting game continues....

David Booth, Jim Kenzie etc. were both speculating around $80K in their reviews of the car.

Very nice! I actually expected the V to start in the mid 80s! This looks good for the Camaro!

As I understand it isn't illegal for us to buy, but it is illegal for US dealers sell us new cars. There are no problems with us importing a used American car, except that things like the speedometer need to be changed and a few other items. As it sits now though, it wouldn't benefit us to buy US because of the relative values of the dollar.

No, but they won't let new purchased cars cross the border until they have 6 months or 10 000kms/ 6000mi on them (if you already have it registered/owned here then its ok), unless you can scoop them under a "business" or some other deal like that. But yea the dollar lost its value for this to be profitable again...

Anyone have news on when we're going to get pricing, i know that ut should be sometime this week or the 16th, just curious. I also heard that you would have to buy the car with cash if you go over the border, not sure, just what i heard.

TheCaptain 11-08-2008 10:47 PM

Yea, they won't let CDNs finance in US. You just have to stop at the bank on the way down.
