5th gen ss vs 2002 mustang
i have lt headers and muffler delete with cold air intake not tuned (yet) vs a supercharged or turbod 02 mustang gt with headers tuned, who would win? just curious cus ive seen a lot around

Depends on the boost....They can make around 380-400Hp at the wheels with around 10psi. And are alot lighter than the 5th Gen. But they can make even more if they have changed the heads, cams, built long block ETC. Seen plenty in the low 11's and high 10's

2v on stock motor with bolt ons will make 380-430 depending on boost on a centri. Turbo 2V's will make a little more. 380-450 on 8-12psi. If it has been changed out to a 4v hen you will have more of a problem. A 99-01 4V with centri can make 420-480 between 8-12 psi. On turbo a 4v can make 420-500 on 8-12psi.
To give you an idea my vortech 03 gt with 99-01 cobra motor ran 11.38 @ 128 on 8.5 psi. Mods were vortech v1 s trim, 3.33 pulley (10psi), front mount, long tubes, x pipe, 4.10's. It had a lot left in it being that it was running 10.2 afr on 8.9 compression. |
I can't count how many of these threads I see with almost the same question.....JUST GO RACE HIM AND TELL US THE RESULTS!!!!!!

My cousin used to have a supercharged '02 Mustang and it ran low 12s in the hot and humid summers here in Central Texas.

A buddy of mine has an '04 GT twin turbo stock bottom end and heads, and hes pushing 640whp at 14psi. If you dont know the specifics of the car, its hard to say who will win, because he can have any range of horsepower. Ive learned in TX, if you make less that 450whp, dont screw with any of the cars!

It could be anywhere from a close race to him just leaving you sitting.

im not to sure what they have and what they are running, i always get the answer "its supercharged" or "its got a turbo" and when i ask how fast they think it is..."oh idk, itll stand up on the rears if i want it to" ha so i just really leave it at that.
