Shifting an auto to feel like a manual

I can shift my auto to "feel" like a manual. Between tap shifting to next gear, take foot of accelerator for a second, allowing time for tranny to shift into next gear, and then apply the gas.

If timed correctly, it's pretty cool. BUT, is this bad for the transmission? :iono:

I don't think it is really bad for the tranny although probably not the best. One thing though taking your foot of the gas is definately slower.

I'm definitely not looking at it from a performance point of view. I'm just looking at it as another way to drive. :) I'm really a stick shift person at heart. I got the auto because it's my daily driver.

Everybody thinks my Camaro is a manual because of the way I drive it with the tapshift, I love the tapshift.

I'm sure your car is even more fun to drive shifting manually because of your exhaust.

The only time I hear mine is on a night when the wind isn't blowing and the crickets aren't chirping on a deserted back road. :)

Get that baby tuned for firm shifts. It'll be nice.

Love to do it, but do not want to void my warranty.
