OK GUYS I MADE A BIGGGGGGG GOOOFFFFBALLL MISTAKE ON THE LAST STEPS OF THE INSTALL VIDEOS!!!!

WHEN YOU TIGHTEN THE 2 HEX BOLTS HOLDING THE SUPPORT ARMS TO THE SHIFTER BODY YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT FULLY TIGHT UNTIL YOU RAISE THE TRANNY BACK UP.

IF YOU DONT YOU WILL HAVE THE SHIFTER NOT LEVEL WITH THE SUPPORT PINS.

YOU WANT TO LOCK DOWN THE BACK BRACKET WITH THE BLUE BUSHINGS THAT THE PINS GO INTO AFTER YOU PUT THE BOOT IN OF COURSE . THEN PUT THE TRANNY SUPPORT MOUNT BACK ON THE CAR AND THENNNNNNN FULLY TIGHTEN THE 2 HEX BOLTS ON THE SUPPORT ARMS AFTER YOU MAKE SURE THE SHIFTER IS LEVEL!!!:yikes:

SORRY FOR THE GOOF

also...

just a rmeinder when you lock everything down tight you want the car in neutral and make double sure that the shift knob is basically pointing straight up when in neutral it should not be angled forward or back otherwise the shifter is not set correctly. you can move the shifter neough to get it jsut right before you lock down the support arms

That's it George! For your screw up you owe every Camaro5 member a "SS" shift knob for free...:bellyroll:

I did the install this afternoon, I found it to be very straight forward and I thought to be very easy. I did it on jack stands (3) little higher on drivers side. I basically followed the video, had my lap top in garage with me, no problems. Took me about 2 hours total, I did call George once, he was on phone but called me within 5 minutes. All went well, I will test drive tomorrow and report back with pics and review. Thanks again George for a great product and for the personal attention. :w00t:

George
I pulled off the leather boot and checked the shifter and it looks level.
Do you think it's ok or should I jack the car up and loosen the support arms and then re-tighten?

George,

Quick question for you. I had ADM Performance install the shifter for me last Friday. I am not sure if it is installed correctly or not after reading this. I pinged ADM, he said to review your install videos ... so that being said .. what step is this on? If it is already installed, what is the easiest way to see if it is installed correctly? The reason why I think it may not be installed correctly is that when it is in first gear, it looks like it is in Neutral (middle of the shifting area).

Thanks,
Crowley

George will you be updating install video's. Still waiting to round up all parts before going to hoist for a couple of days.

the install video steps online now are spot on with that one exception. just make sure you raise the tranny up after everything is done and then do a final tighten on those 2 hex bolts holding the support arms on AFTER to check and make sure the shifter is level and the center shaft is basically straight up when the car is in neutral.

Installed my shifter last night. The passenger side pin is tough but we got it done. Took my car for a road trip today and the shifter performs flawlessly. Just what I was looking for. George, Thanks for a great product.
