Front License Plates :-(
So I realized today that in my state, front license plates are REQUIRED  ... needless to say this is quite heartbreaking, as i do NOT want that crap on my Camaro. Anyone know of any loopholes or ways I can avoid marring my beautiful Camaro? :iono:

Not sure how these states will deal with it.
Mine is one of them...... :( |
Here in Ct a front plate is required. The law was never enforced until recently. I think the state is just looking for money. I saw somewhere someone is making a front plate bracket for the Camaro that can be removed- (two piece slide gizmo) that bolts under the front cover. I think it is about $49.00. My dealer has been told no front plate or dealer name !.

Move to a different state :sm0:

Getting fed up with Maine Winters .... LOL |

Depending upon your laws
In MO the front is required as well; however, my dealership is going to install one of those retractable (powered) license plate holders. This way you can have it up / viewable / legal when you are moving, and down when you want to look at your car / at a show / waxing etc.
Google U-tube for retractable license plate holders. |
Slap it on your dash if you get pulled over... just needs to be displayed on the front... depending on wording doesn't say has to be drilled into the bumper.
Or just suck it up and take the ticket. |
The thing with front plates not being inforced in the past and now are is that with the red light camera and photo radar. They lock in on the front plate. Toll boths also use the plate to catch the abusers. And last night a local police force was showing off the two new units that .... get ready
Scan your plate as it passes the cruiser. In 1/100 of a second it has already pulled the plate and checked to see if it is stolen, wrong plate, APB'd by any police force (including out of state). I am also suspect that it checks to see if the vehicle has insurance and if the owner has any unpaid tickets or warrants. In just 3 days they arrested 74 people. Update: Here is the local news story on It and yes according to the story warrants and insurance are checked also. http://www.kfdm.com/video/index.php?...id=20997384001 |
