How many of you.......
For those of you running just over 600rwhp, did you change internals on motor, if you didn't how's your car holding up you have any issues? I'm looking to go fi on my Camaro and I'm just wondering at that power level how are things holding up.

Stock bottom end making over 740 rear wheel horsepower. I'll build it at some point but plenty people making over 600 with a good time and fuel.
i ran at 637 whp for a while and got greedy. Pulley'd down and added meth and beat severly on the car for 6 weeks at 715whp and broke the top 2 ringlands on #5. That was my plan.....too see how much abuse the stock bottom end could take. 6 galllons of meth in those 6 weeks.
I had my new motor already in the process of being built when i ran this experiment. I think it would have run a long time if i wasnt doing 1st-4th pulls every day to and from work. |
Wow lol so it seems like just over 600 they seem to be holding up pretty well.
Most of them do, I'm still doing a 417 build in November though:)
They're are people running 900+whp on the stock shortblock w/o a problem
It's not a question of how many, it's how long.
I been running 720 for almost a year now with all stock internals. No problems. I believe its all in the tune and also how you the driver takes care of it. But sh** does happen. Near future plan is to add meth and then forged internals before adding more boost or something else :D

600+ here & no problems. Over 5000 hard miles on stock short block. It's in the tune & components (fuel etc) But remember anything can go wrong at anytime.. |
Thanks for the Info everyone
I'm running with stock internals myself, however I don't push my luck too often.
650 to the wheels. 6000 miles in the last year. No problem's yet.
FWIW, I just knocked on wood. Lol Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4 |
700+RWHP here. A little playing around on the street but a lot of 1/4 mile runs and no problems so far
Was running over 620whp with a rear mount twin turbo setup for almost 3 years. Over 80 trips down the strip, best pass being a 10.99 with stock suspension, rear end, and tranny.
Just recently blew the ringland on cylinder #7. Signs of it running lean. I feel if i had a better tune at the time i would still be kicking. So as others have said, good tune and plenty of fuel. and you can enjoy it for some time. |
