AutoX with a 2SS?
I have been autoXing my WS.6 for a few summers now, and this weekend my friend and I went to AX our 4th gens. Well he would like me to be his partner for the next AX and run his M6 2SS together. Can anyone give me some tips? Is there a sport mode I should be aware of? Any tire pressure recomendations since he's still on the stock rubber-it's about 50°-60° anymore here, pretty cold...

Don't think you'll be real happy with your Auto X times...Just had mine at Thunderhill's 3 mile road course - this thing is heavy! The understeer was much improved with 4-5 PSI taken out of the front (versus the 36 recommended), but it is still there. I would bet this car would push like crazy at Auto X. Need to take weight out and do some suspension mods. Also, not sure what class SCAA has put her in, but I'm sure it's at the high end because of the power.

i thought they were 50/50 balanced? I did do some youtube searches and noticed the understeer

Regular Traction Control off/Stabilitrack on (hit the TC button once) Traction Control off/Stabilitrack reduced (hit the TC button twice) Traction Control off/Stabilitrack off (press and hold TC button for 7 seconds) You'd probably want to run it in competition mode (TC off/Stabilitrack reduced) but I haven't heard enough about the various modes to describe how the car reacts when pushed in each. |
I'd run Auto X with All Off on the Stabilitrak, as you will definitely need to throttle steer. Even Comp mode is a bit intrusive when you work that.

i did an AutoX 2 weeks ago, and they classed me F stock. and yes, the front end pushed like crazy!!

I had put up a review of my first autocross awhile back, link is here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47393 .. Ran traction control/stabilitrak all off w/ tires at 38 psi as I agree w/ Tomato, definitely have to throttle steer to keep the car pointed where you want her to be.
