Better late than never. I have so enjoyed this thread. All the Camaros are so awesome in their own way. I love the personal touches. It all started as a thought in 2006 when word was out that Chevrolet had an idea. As time went on, we Camaro lovers got all excited. By early 2009 the bug bit me. I made my way to Hubbard GM Center in Monticello, Indiana. Matt Hubbard and I began talking numbers and options, and on July 3, 2009, we had placed the order. This was the first car we had ordered just the way we wanted it. It was ordered with my Mother and Father in mind as they had both passed. Mom on Sept. 25, 2006 and Dad on June 21, 2008. My Mother was a car girl and Dad, a retired Indiana State Trooper and White County Sheriff, simply loved the thrill of the chase. So having said that, it was ordered for them as much as for my wife and myself.
I caught word after tracking my girl on "spasticsquirrel" that on October 1, 2009 she had finally arrived from Dearborn, Michigan. When I spoke to the driver, I asked what time he left Dearborn--he looked at me as if I had 'smoked my breakfast' I said that I knew what truck she was on and the time it would arrive. I had some serious fun tracking her from the time we had a GM order to the day it arrived.:chevy:

Did not have her 24 hours and let the mods begin. My son-in-law, Clint Minglin and I proceeded to remove the exhaust. How does it go? Off with the old and on with the new!---Corsa Catback. Check out the paper plate!:chevy:

Start with the engine

5 Attachment(s)
Time to start with the engine compartment. Starts pretty much like all the others from the factory. Then we got the idea to let Mike Weatherholt and his crew in the body shop at Hubbard GM Center paint the engine cover. From there, we went to the CAI. After some "hometown" pinstriping, I decided it was time to get the Discover Card out and purchase some items--BBK CAI. IT EVEN MATCHES MY CAR'S COLOR:happyanim:
More to come...have to help with the turkey. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!:chevy:

Thanks so much Superchris. I am having so much fun doing this. Mom and Dad would love this thread. Although they never had the opportunity to look at or ride in the 2010, we would take rides in the 1968. I remember the last cruise we took, I was driving with Mom being co-pilot. My Dad was 6' 7'' and we finally got him "tucked" in the back seat! We cruised Monticello, Indiana and simply had a great time. :chevy:

Pinstriping of engine compartment

7 Attachment(s)
I wanted to post photos of the engine bay first and will follow-up with those of the body as well.
Before I go any further, I must speak of the man with the talent to "tatoo" vehicles. His name is Ken Klim. They call him "Wildman". I discovered his talent years ago when I was looking for something for my 1997 Dodge Sport Truck. With chaulk in hand and about 2 minutes of his time, he had drawn on my truck exactly what I was thinking--and had no other information other than I asked that it be subtle. Oh, and I advised him he would get the job only if his signature was on the truck. He agreed and the rest is history. I trust you will find his work on the 2010 Camaro real nice and subtle--so subtle, sometimes the sun needs to be just right to bring out the colors. He used red and cyber grey to compliment the Aqua Blue and Cyber Grey Rally Stripes. Many at shows come up to the car stating, "Hey, that does have pinstriping on it and the closer we get, the better it looks. Who in the world did that?" As far as I am concerned, that tells the story.
Thanks so much Ken for making our ride what it is today. Oh, and by the way, yes "Wildman" is painted on the rear bumper!!;)

Thanks Bo Tie. I have a 327/300hp 4 speed w/410 GM Posi. I am going to do a build thread on it as well. I left Tran a message asking if there would be a problem with that. I have yet to hear, so it must be okay. Thanks for asking...:chevy:

Wheels and Tires

4 Attachment(s)
I began the search for wheels and tires January 2010. I wanted a 5 spoke with some dish to it-something like the wheels on my 68 Camaro in my garage. I just knew I found what I wanted.

1. First choice. Boss 338 with chrome spinners. 20 staggered. They would not fit due to the Brembo Brakes. :(
2. Second. Gianelle Cancun 20" staggered. They would fit and I ordered them. :happyanim: Then the dealer/manufacturer told me they would not even be available before the end of the year. So I cancelled the order. :iono:
3. Third. TSW Strip Gunmetal. 20" staggered. They would not fit as well due to the brakes.
4. Fourth. Maas' Modular 551C. 20" staggered with new OEM Perrilli PZero rubber. These would and DID fit the car just right-and look pretty cool. :happyanim:
