Did this fix anything? What's the thing that plugs into the air intake?

Watch the video and tell me if it helped please. Car seemed a little peepier.

Ok so what the heck was the thing I unplugged and plugged back in? All I know before the car was not as peppy, now it seems to be peppier, still not right but quicker.

Here is the interesting thing. All the playing around and stuff since I got the car new I was getting 12.5-14.5 miles per gallon. Today I reset the gas milage thing and have been romping it more than I have in the past and I am getting 17.8 miles per gallon. Have driven like 3 days worth of driving this morning so far and romping the heck out of it.

Also the car is idling rough since I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It was suggested to me in a PM that it may not have a good connection. Is the car relearning now since that may of not been working right?

I just do not know what exactly it does so some insite would be great.

after watching both, not timing it though.. seems a little better... what I would do then is unplug all the connectors under the hood by the throttle body as well.. for the TPS etc. AND take the ground off the battery for about an hour... then hook it all up, so it resets.. and see what happens then...

Hey Scott -

Used a Robic stopwatch with your video. Used only digital speed/sound to trigger it. Average 0-60 time was 6.25 sec. A little faster than before (I was averaging 6.44 sec on old video), but that is probably due to early morning weather conditions. The car sounds good, just not the times the magazines have been touting. IMO the best solution is a trip to a dyno. Even if a car runs "perfect", you can always find more HP with a good tune. :)

Fbodfather said not to unplug the battery. He wants to make sure any lower level codes are saved so they can fix it.

Doesn't look any better to me, still between 6-7 seconds by my rough count. I am not a GM tech, but I don't really understand their hesitance to reload the computer with new software. It can't take more than an hour and to me it is the simplest thing to try. It is too bad there is no easy way to verify 100% throttle is opening when you floor it, I bet the ECM is backing off the throttle for some reason.

I guess that would be "if" something gets done and soon... as you know mine is 231 and seemed good, even though now I have headers back and a converter.. but was good before..

FYI mine had over 50 miles on it from GM.. so I know they drove mine around.

Your car does seem to be running better. It's shifting better and the rpms seem to be climbing the tach faster.
To me it looks like your running around 6.0 sec (:23 count to :29 count).

But its hard to be accurate with the video. I wish you lived close to me. I would let you use my G-Tech and we could have a quick race. That would really answer the question as to how well your car is running.

I think it may be the MASS airflow sensor

2010SLVRBULIT 06-28-2009 11:08 AM

..all this trouble from a bad/defective sensor?..just maybe..

AZCamaroFan 06-28-2009 11:11 AM

Well that's not suprising. If a car isn't running right, you can get bad performance, and bad gas mileage.

DEW 06-28-2009 11:24 AM

Dont know how many miles you have on it, but once the rings seat, the motor will make more power. Its just getting broke in and happy!
