Barrett-Jackson (4 Camaro's) BEWARE- 44 Pics!!!

(First off, sorry about the amount of pictures. I tried taking pictures of things that I've heard people want to see more in depth. The lighting was low so I did the best I could with my 10 Mega pixel Cannon Camera with a low-light flash)

Hey Folks,
I finally made the trip across town out to Scottsdale, AZ where they are currently hosting the Barrett-Jackson Auto auction. They also have hundreds upon hundreds of classic and new cars from all over the world- Amazing stuff.

I felt like it was my own personal superbowl day, because to my surprise- 4 Camaro's were just sitting there as I walked up.

-LS7 Red
-Silver Ice SS/RS w/ Cyber Rally Stripes (Auctioned Car)
-Yellow V6 w/ Hockey Stripes
-Dale Jr. V8

Although the vehicles were all locked up, I was able to get a real nice in depth look at all of them from the outside. The Camaro's swept me off my feet and really looked 10x better than any picture could describe.

I was even fortunate enough to speak with John Fitzpatrick for a while and asked over a dozen questions about the Camaro. He answered as many questions as he could and offered some great insight. One of which is why we haven't seen the 'Unicorn' (CGM). Which some have already mentioned before, the plant is currently still making Impala's and will continue to. Impala's don't use Cyber Gray- Hence, we have no CGM Camaro yet.

John also did a great job in giving me confidence in GM and Chevy to produce an awesome muscle car. After talking for a while, I felt assured that everything was on target to produce one of the best cars out there. Trust me, he's just as excited to release the Camaro as we are about receiving it. If people have other questions about the Camaro that we may have discussed (because I don't remember everything), please feel free to discuss on this thread and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability. I DO NOT speak on behalf of GM or Chevy though, just rememer that!

Well folks, here ya go!!!

Didn't mention about HUD. I had TONS of questions to ask, but of course when I get the chance I only remember half of them :(

ABL was not shown in these vehicles. The GM rep told me that they are fully dedicated to improving ABL and wanting to ensure that this feature will work to it's fullest potential. So they are hard at work ensuring that everything is top notch... including ABL.

Excellent! Thanks for posting them. Gotta love Barrett Jackson.

Great job, thanks for the pics. Any chance you remember this shot of the stripe on the auction camaro?
Is this a light reflection or bare paint? It appears the vinyl came up short. Thanks again.

zebra 01-17-2009 02:09 AM

^^ nice catch! i hope people there ain't as astute.

lol You crack me up. Don't take any offense by this, but I find it funny that out of all of these pics you find the smallest minute detail

To answer your question though, I don't remember seeing that spot in person. But when I look back at some of the other pics, I think the vinyl might stop just ever so slightly before the end of the hood. I'm guessing much like this pic of the stripes on the back:

http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/3636/29524201qg3.jpg

I wouldn't think it just 'came short' It's probably by design. Hope that helps!

The stripes also go over the spoiler and down the back . And in the production intent one at NAIAS does not. I personally like the one that goes over and down the back of the spoiler

I want to see Black/with Cyber Gray metallic stripe package

HeavyRightFooT 01-17-2009 03:02 AM

Cyber Gray Metallic

Hi Folks ...
I'm looking to get a preview of what Cyber gray is going to look like since quite a bit of time and after the stripes it looks like part of it was right in front of us since Sema.... Is this white and Cyber Gray Metallic ? (check how gray and metallic this color is... plus when checking the GMPP site concerning sema these wheels are called out as cyber gray center paint no? looks like we got a match)
Just food for thoughts...

If this is Cyber Gray Met then I cant wait to see an all over car cause it's gonna be real nice :) :)

that's correct... almost. the Dale Jr car is Cyber Gray over some creamy color (i have no clue what it's called) if you look at some of the other pictures, you can see it ain't really white.

Scooter 01-17-2009 04:09 AM

AWSOME pictures!!!!!! Thank You!!!

issman 01-17-2009 06:45 AM

Does any one know what wheels are on the Red LS7 Car?

bobby35ny 01-17-2009 07:45 AM

I made a good choice!!

-bobby

Supermans 01-17-2009 08:10 AM

But remember that the Dale Jr. camaro was hand painted so hopefully the machines once retro-fitted with Cyber Grey come out as nice. Unfortunately they are not going to be tested the Cyber grey color on a camaro as they are testing all of the other colors.. Let's hope since it is the most popular color, that there isn't any quality control problems because of this lack of testing..

GTAHVIT 01-17-2009 08:14 AM

very nice thanks.

CynAgain 01-17-2009 08:57 AM

ooohhh GREAT pics! I don't think I've seen the hockey stripe for real - lots of chops but not the real thing. I love it. I also like the stripes going over the back of the spoiler too.

I am really dying to see CGM too! That color is going to look great on the Camaro.

Thanks for posting - it must have been a nice surprise to find all those sitting there!

The Great KJ 01-17-2009 09:25 AM

Outstanding photos, you did a fine job. Those rims on the silver Camaro look awesome. The close up of the Jr grille maybe changed my mind on my car. Barrett-Jackson has a nice set up there, very impressive.

Thanks!

383ss 01-17-2009 09:37 AM

nice photos!

ArcAngel 01-17-2009 09:45 AM

yea these are great pics they also show that the v6 looks as good as the 8

Legend 01-17-2009 10:30 AM

Thanks for the pics!!! AWESOME shots!!

You confirmed for me at least that silver ice metallic is the perfect color!! I think it will look even better with the black stripe package (compared to the CGM)! I'm excited as heck to get mine!!!

Why would they put the IOM interior with the silver though? I don't think those go together at all...maybe it's just me?

They all look great...but SIM is my choice!!

I do hope the stripes are over the spoiler too...so much better than stopping short like the red Camaro in Detriot!

Thanks again!

bobby35ny 01-17-2009 10:42 AM

I would have ordered the black rally's if the factory installed them.

=bobby

chevy dude 01-17-2009 10:46 AM

Cool! Thanks for the pics:coolpics:I am really impressed with the Yellow RS.I couldn't help but notice the additional "blackout" on the decklid...looks really cool.

And the LS7 looks Sweet, again i really like the grille area "blackout" and the rear bumper "blackout",something i wish GM would offer as a option for the new Camaro.I think it adds alot of personality to the appearance of the car.

I thought the "hockey stripe "included a hood decal as well(yellow RS),or is this a custom made Camaro?

A good question for GM is...The bowtie emblem on the decklid,is the emblem attached with posts/screws or an adhesive backing?I'd hate to have to replace the "bowtie" emblem to add a "blackout" decal on my decklid.

I was also impressed with the black "rocker molding" on the yellow RS,something i hope will be a aftermarket add-on in the future.

TheMadHatter99 01-17-2009 10:58 AM

All these pictures are just making it even harder to place my order. Do I want IBM, CGM, or RJT? Do I want the whole bodykit or just the front and rear parts? Do I want the vinyl pieces on the front or on the back or both? Do I want stripes, and if so which style?

Ugh. Maybe seeing some in person in Philly will help.

franknbeans 01-17-2009 10:59 AM

thanks for the pictures!

Surprised me as well...thought for sure the SS would sit a tad lower! We can fix that though!

JAG836 01-17-2009 01:54 PM

GREAT PICS! Thanks!!!

If you get the RS package, do you have to get the midnight silver wheels, or can I still get polished instead? I like the polished better.

You can get the polished but they are $470 option...I think it's that price. And no...you do not get to keep the midnight silver rims.

I sent you a PM...when you get time if you could send me the big shots of the red LS7 side pictures I would sure appreciate it.
