Since there seems to be a some confusion regarding the various subforums, and even a lack of awareness in some cases I thought I'd make a thread briefly explaining the purpose of each.


General Camaro Forums

This seems to be the most misunderstood section of the site. If something doesn't fit into a category we already have, post it here. So don't ask about what headers you should buy, or what polish we recommend, or talk about your lost dog. Those threads belong elsewhere. But if its a piece of Camaro news, or a general question about the car feel free to post it here.

Im new to the site and I've been trying to post pictures but dont know were to go. I did my profile and paste some picture of my 2012 Transformer edition but didnt got posted in the pictures please can somebody help me. This is the only place I can try to get help. This is my 7 camaro since 1977.

Are you trying to get a picture for your avatar (the pic that shows to the left of each post)? If you are, then its you've just gotta go into your user CP (here) and look on the left side and you should see an 'edit avatar' (or just click here) and go from there.

Thanks for reminding me of this thread. I've got to go back and update it, maybe on the weekend. I know there are a few new sections to add, and the Z/28 is no longer speculation.
Not everyone will read it, but with nearly 10,000 views quite a few people have at least looked at it.

Hella great idea. I am new and stumbled across this.

So what if you are new to cars in general. And after test driving all the pretty cars. This girl decided she wanted to learn about her car and she doesn't know all that much and the topic lists you have posted are half like looking at a foreign language? Where to I go for the "dummies guide articles" ?

For the true beginner that knows very little about cars, I often recommend the automotive section of HowStuffWorks.com is a great start. You can find well written articles about just about everything there, with accompanying diagrams/animations. If you already know the basics about cars, sites like wikipedia can fill in a few details rather well.

On the other hand, if you are simply lost in the jargon & TLA's (Three Letter Acronyms) ... there isn't much that I know of that can help. Just keep reading, ask questions, and continue to learn. We were all new here once and it took a while to figure out what some of the stuff meant.

I think it's time to update the Z/28 section :lol:

Judging from the looks of the General Forum I would say No one reads this anymore. So much stuff posted in the wrong places make it a nightmare to keep any resemblance of order.
Multiple posts in a thread saying Wrong Forum isn't the answer either so what is? What can be done to help?
Looking through the general forum at any given time there are at least a dozen threads or more that do not belong there. Some "for sale" stuff being rather blatant. :mad:

I am new here but I have a question and I pray someone here can help. I have a 2011 SS and my stabilitrak came on when my wife cranked the car, all she did was move it about 40ft and turned it off. Well about an hour later she cranked it up again and it was making a bunch of noise coming out from under the hood. I told her to turn it off for about 30 seconds and try it again, well when she tried again it wouldn't do anything but a loud click. I am praying that the motor isn't locked up, any help would surely come in handy. THANX IN ADVANCE
