Sad thought

What if all these newly built cars which we have seen at the plant are really just going to be smashed for crash testing ....The thought makes me ill

Not to worry... we are WAY past crash testing.....

TheCavalry 03-06-2009 08:39 AM

Are you serious? Why would you think such a thing!?

Camaro_Corvette 03-06-2009 08:39 AM

These shouldn't hit the chopping blocks. I think those are saleable cars. If I'm not mistaken it's the pre-production cars that will take the hit for the team.

thank goodness....those were way too badass to go crash them...I just wanted to get you guys and gals are worried and upset...I was bored this morning !!!!

They wouldn't put window stickers including Onstar in crash test cars

There is a limit man. There is sick, wrong and then just plain twisted. Dont you dare get us to think such horrible thoughts about these beautiful cars. shame on you!!!!
jk. I hope not man.

ZZcamaro 03-06-2009 10:36 AM

I think the testing is done much earlier....
The reason I was not sure is that we have yet to see a performance test of the SS, and we don't know the real crash test ratings.

Just a little sick, twisted, crazy, idiotic, way to get your heart pumping a little more I guess.

Oh $*it...NINE DAYS !!!!!

I could care less. . . why. . because it will save MY LIFE. . .

In today's technology of CAD and CAM, they have already done the majority of crash testing.

Stingr69 03-06-2009 01:06 PM

All cars have to be tested. My Dad used to work at a place called Calspan in Buffalo NY and they had a large number of Crash Tested vehicles out in the back lot. Part of the work they do there. They are kept for years in case a question ever comes up. I remember a couple of brand new blue Trans Am's back there in the '70's. That was like "WTF is up with that"? Sad but inevitable.:( A small price to pay for safety. :)

What would be worse is -- what if the dealer called you up and told you they actually took your car, which was going to be delivered to you this week, and accidently used it as a crash test car.
