2010 Camaro sold out in Japan already
As reported (and seen) earlier, the 2010 Camaro is bound for the Japanese market as well.
Ahead of actual deliveries, GM's Japan arm -- the General Motors Asia Pacific (Japan) is reporting that it has already sold more than 120 orders.. which is more than it's allotment (120) of Camaros for the year! GMAP spokesman Michihiro Yamamori confirmed the orders. Final prices will not be announced until October, but according to Edmunds, the Camaro should arrive in Japan in both V6 and V8 versions, with pricing likely to be the equivalent of $45,325 to $56,390.
It seems that the Camaro is selling out in whatever market it's being introduced to, whether that be the US or abroad. Proof that the design of the new Camaro is truly universally appealing, regardless of culture or geography. Go GM go Camaro!!
Says edmunds:
Quote:
Many of the orders are reportedly from men in their 30s and 40s who haven't been put off by GM's June 1 bankruptcy filing.
Along with the Chevrolet Corvette and the Ford Mustang, the Camaro has long had a strong cult following on Japan's roads. Owners love the power, speed and style of American muscle cars and the strong visual statement they make.
