Dangeruss LSX 427 build by ARD

40 Attachment(s)
ARD got started on my LSX this weekend, and they let me come in and watch. Some of you know I already have a Whipple, nitrous and a 4L80 transmission. I was making over 600RWHP (700RWHP on nitrous), but we knew we were at the limits of the block. I wanted more power and stability...here's what we're going with.

- GMPP LSX Block (bored to 427)
- Wiseco Pistons
- Callies Rods
- Callies Crank
- LS3 Ported Heads
- Manley Valves, Springs, Titanium Retainers, Locators
- Comp Cam - Duration: 227/243 - Lift: 614/624 - LSA: 114
- ARP Studs
- 85 LB Injectors
- LS7 Lifters
- Comp Cam - Duration: 227/243 - Lift: 614/624 - LSA: 114
- Rollmaster Double Timing Chain
- Meling Oil Pump
- Oil Cooler
- MSD Plug Wires
- NGK Spark Plugs

For a list of all my mods, here's a link to my build thread.

Here are some pics from yesterday. I'll update this thread as we go along.

Why meth and nitrous? Just curious.

The Stig 09-12-2011 01:52 PM

I believe meth is used to lower temps and to increase the rating of the fuel. But I could be wrong, and if so: please disregard everything I just said.

Power and safety. With meth we can add more timing to get more HP on just blower. It also gets very hot here in Houston, so the meth will help keep things cooler. I'll only use nitrous at the track, so it will be the icing on the cake. :)

I'm not sure...I'm definitely not an expert. I do know that the compression will be 9.5-1.

The 4L80 was also built by ARD here in Houston. Send me a PM and I'll get you their info.

everything looks good Russ! And coming along nicely  I'll need to stop at ARD some time and look at the motor in person. If not guess I'll have to wait till everything is put in and ready for Camaro Nationals :chevy:
