Upgrading to a V8.

I am torn at the moment. I am getting an awesome trade on my 1lt/rs. I'll only have lost $1000 when all is said and so using the car for 10 months isn't too bad.

What scares me is the pricepoint between two similarly equipped 2012s.

Yes, the 2SS/RS Camaro along with the GT Premium. I have comp'ed both cars through USAA with a guaranteed price of $30,805 for the 5.0 with leather 3.73 rear, HID's and leather. MSRP is $35,025 so ~$4200 off of sticker.

While the 2SS/RS I want (well they dont have RJT and Crystal Red is still not available has a USAA guaranteed price of $36097 with MSRP of 38,080. So $1983 off of MSRP. All i want is the 2SS/RS with a short throw. I am wondering if anyone has finagled a price lower than the ~$36 2SS/RS

So if you can't get a better price than the Ford you're going to buy the Mustang?

36k before tax is very possible- and has been done ;)

there is no comparo u couldnt pay me to get a ford...ughhh

Well the Ford is out of the question. I decided I could not pass up the HUD and etc. This car is going to be a daily driver I drive about 45 miles on average daily. I do plan on running the car until it dies.

I am currently driving myself nuts at the moment. I am debating 2011 vs 2012. A 2012 optioned the way I want is $36k as mentioned above, while I can get an 11 for about $32 with TTYL placing the final price at just under $35K. I know the 2012 gets a new tranny, new interior (no real pull for me) and I know the FE4 suspension on the 2012 is replacing the current FE3. If anybody has driven the FE3 and FE4 suspensions please chime in as it is the only thing holding me back between getting a 11 vs 12.

Go with a 2012

Well I decided. I am going to wait on a 2012 and go with Crystal Red Claret/Beige, SSRS, Short Throw and I'll be happy.

I think that's a good decision. I just traded my 2010 2SS coupe for a 2012 and the new suspension makes a huge difference in the way it drives and rides. Much, much better IMO. You'll love the short throw. I do.

I wondered if the FE4 made a diference as I have only driven the 2010-11 twice. Fe4 has 23mm front and 24 mm rear solid bars, the rear bar attached to the outside of the shocks now and the shocks are revalved and firmer but better ride they say. I'm glad I waited for the 2012 and had the 2010 v6 first. I like the HUD, rear camara, new steering wheel, hurst shifter and interior. The adjustable passenger seat is a plus also. Didnt know it had a new tranny? Was that M6 or A6?

As far as deals i drove a 2012 black M6 no sunroof and same discount was at 36000. Mine was 37500 but has sunroof, cargo net and stripes.
